Post by mythreesons Mon Feb 02, 2009 1:45 pm

Wow its February already and Punxatawney Phil saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter!!! I keep hearing something about another big storm but then they aren't sure about when or if its even coming...We shall see!!!

Diana- Hope Aubrey starts to feel better soon. Sick kiddos are tough.

AFM- Not much new here! Trying to get my DH to bring up my eliptical machine so I can start exercising but so far I just get alot of grumbling about how heavy it is and how it looks better in the basement.HAHAHA! But I dusted off my pilates videos and have to dig out my hand weights today and I'll be ready to go!Am so disgusted with how I ate over the weekend. Anyway, am off to try and do some stuff while Lucas is asleep!

Later e-mommas!!

PS Anyone wanna be Luc's Valentine? He's to shy to ask himself Laughing

Shannon - NO!!! I DON'T WANT MORE WINTER!!! Smile We're supposed to get a storm tomorrow, starting tonight, but they're not sure how much we'll get yet....great! a storm a week lately!

AFM: Logan had sweet potatoes last night and loved them. He then preceded to sleep until 4:40am and then back to sleep until I woke him up (as much as I hated to) at 7:45am. Rayna is home with a cold today which means we don't have to leave the house (yeah!!). DH is doing pretty well, I made him take it easy Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and most of Sunday too. He said he's doing okay at work today. Otherwise, things are pretty calm (at the moment). Hope everyone's LOs are getting better. Later gators! Smile

Logan has an outfit like that too!

He was fine until he was on the table and then was like "what am i doing?" but as he put it, he's a lazy bum and doesn't want to have to stop and go get anything, and he's not ready to not DTD, so.......

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I havent posted over here. I tried like 4 times on Friday and everytime someone would walk into my office and I would have to close out of the screen and loose my whole post. Bah! It drove me crazy so I stopped trying. Then I was swamped all weekend with stuff. I have read everyones posts but I dont have time for personals right now. I will try and get to them later.

Nate is doing much better. I dont want to jinx anything and say that he is finally over all this crud but its looking good. We took the last of the antibiotics this morning and his congestion has pretty much gone too. Here is keeping my fingers crossed that the school doesnt call me here in 5 minutes asking me to come and pick him up.

Take Care Ladies!

We too are getting the storm, depending on how close it comes to the coast depends on how much we get...I am so done with winter...and to boot I have Landree's apt tomorrow at 11am, I hate going out in the snow, but I really don't want to reschedule, lets just hope it stays on it's current path and all we will get is light snow.

I did take her in this morn. Lil stinker...the doctor walks in and she just starts smiling...
Dr says her ears look fine and her chest sounds fine. She thinks it's just a virus but if she still has fever Wed morn to call and they will send her for a chest xray to double check there's no pneumonia. I can tell she's achy and just feels crappy and the crud in her nose gags her. She hates the tylenol but she's getting better about taking it. So, it's a 'let it runs it's course'. Hopefully it's a short course.

Amy, glad to hear Nate is feeling better.
Elise, glad everything went well for DH. it's a decision we are contemplating also.
Shannon, i've been looking at my eliptical for 3 months now...haven't been on it once, dusted it a few times though (does that count)
Kim, hope u don't have to be out in too much snow tomorrow. we're supposed to be 50-60's by the weekend, i can't wait!

Have a good night ladies.

Shannon- In response to your post about my hubby I take no offense at all I am pretty upset with ow I get the crappy end sometimes and am stuck with everything to do. No he isn't one of those guys though unless those guys also believe the woman should go out and work in addition to taking care of everything else at home. For the longest while he fought me on the tooth and nail wanting me to go work and shove my kids in daycare. I have fought back just as hard and have put my foot down that I absolutely refuse to put the kids in daycare. I just have bad feelings about them places personally. And I also noted that while refusing to go work that even if I did have a job most of what I would make would go to daycare costs anyways and we only have one vehicle so either way its not really a win situation. On top of that I informed him that there is no way in heck I am gonna go work then have to come home and do everything I am doing now on top of working all on my own. And I cannotr eally trust the MIL to watch kids because she is in school not only that but her house is actually quite disgusting and I would not trust her enough giving that her house is nasty to watch the kids even if she had time around school. My hubby used to always hound me about getting a job but has slacked up on it alot. He only mentions it maybe once every few months when he wants to get me going on a rant.

Michelle- I totally know that feeling to where they expect us to thank them for performing what should be a given since they are our other half and our kids happen to have their blood in their veins as well. I tell my hubby when he mentions how I never thank him nor verbally show appreciation for him helping with the kids now and then that I should not have to thank him for it they are his kids and he dirties the house just as much as I do. Also I told him that I should not have to argue with him to get him to do something for them nor should I have to verbally tell him something needs to be done he should just take notice that it needs to be done and do it. I cannot tell you how many times in recent months I have told him I so wish he had a dang job because he gets on my nerves.

AFM- The kids are still on the antibiotics for like 6-7 more days. Jeremiahs cough is just horrible. there are times he holds himself back from coughing and it sounds kinda weird But I know thats what he is doing. Not sure if maybe the coughing is making his throat raw or what. Faith she is still doing super awesome on the PT and is still going nighttime completely dry and you can tell she holds it all night because when she gets up in the morning the bathroom is the first place she heads to and she ends up peeing alot. Elijah his Eyes seems to be doing alot better they are not red anymore so I am glad the drops are working. Luckily he was able to go back to school on Monday as he missed like 3 days last week. DH has been attempting to help more without being told do to something but there is still room for improvements. Other than that I cannot really think of anything else at the moment. I know sometime I need to take a post pregnancy picture although Jeremiah is almost 4 months old already. I know I probably looked a bit better like 2 weeks after having him that what I do now but the heck with it. Oh one more thing I talked to my brother and he mentioned how my sister who had the gastric surgery she has already lost like 40lbs and its only been 3 weeks. It results like that that have me entertain the thought and the thoughts alone about surgery. But I would be too scared to do it now knowing what happened to her and how they thought there was a chance she may not make it through it all alive no way would I ever now. Besides that I think one of the requirements is that you have to be like 100lb over your normal weight and I'm not quite that far. Only like 80 lbs over I think it is but shoot I would be happy to lose about 55 that would put me at a size 10/12 I would be happy with that..anyways that's all for now should try and sleep while baby is sleeping.

Joy- Other than the risky surgery, one of the downfalls to losing weight that fast, is that the skin doesnt stretch down as quickly or sometimes at all, leaving you with flaps and most insurances wont cover it.I've though alot about getting the lap band but don't know how to mention it to my doctor.Im sorry your hubby doesnt help much. But I agree about daycare. The cost 2 send kids is horrible! If we had my 2 youngest in daycare plus before and after school care for ods it would be about $1600 per month. So I'd need to make about $15,000 more per year just to make it worthwhile to work otherwise it would cover daycareand my car loan and thats all...But there are some home daycares that are great!Or you could do your own daycare to earn money.

Kim- Hope you don't get alot of bad weather.I heard here(in NY) we're supposed to miss the storm but get some lake effect.Good luck!

Diana-Poor Aubrey!!!I hope they dont have to do the xrays on her.The device they have to put the babies in looks like a torture device!!!But it's better to have them spend the 5 minutes in it to find out if they have something serious like pneumonia. Will keep my fingers crossed for ya!Oh and I think the dusting's gotta count for something!

Amy- Glad Nate's feeling better!!!

AFM: Got ODS second report card yesterday and its AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!! Other than that not much going on here. Luc is napping so I'm doing stuff around the house(does this count as houseworkLOL?)Ok probably not but I should go try and get some stuff done...Later mommas!

Hey Ladies!
Sorry I haven't been on much the past week, I've been reading, but no time to post. My school days have been busy, and when I get home I'm too exhausted from being with 18 kids, then spending time with Maddie and dh, and getting things ready for the next day to actually get back on the computer.

Not much time for personals as I have to go get the kids from P.E. Hope everyone's los are feeling better! Maddie is feeling much better. She still has some congestion, but not nearly as bad. Otherwise nothing new really, she's sleeping much better!!! Actually last night she slept from 9:!5 until 7:20! She didn't make a peep until 6 and then all she wanted was her binky. It was so nice!! Hopefully she keeps it up! The only other exciting thing is one of my very good friends is due any day now, so we're waiting to hear from her. I'm so excited Maddie will have another lo to play with only 4 months apart!

Have a great day!!! Kim- Hope we don't get too much snow, we're looking at 2-4 inches!!

Hey everyone! I've only got a minute, my house is a wreck and it's driving me nuts so I am going to clean while Brenden is napping. I spent most of yesterday on this damn computer doing our taxes. I'm still seeing double. I can not believe how much we have to freakin' pay! With Dh's job and the sell of my shop the IRS just took us to the cleaners. We also sold some stock last year and that really hurt us. You would think with the birth of a child, loss of a job (mine) and this stinky economy we'd get a break....whatever. Anyway, we are just cleaning and hitting the grocery today. I hope everyone in the path of yet another storm is safe and can stay warm! Those of you with sick LO's....my heart goes out to you! I hope everyone gets well soon. Have a good Tuesday! -Michelle

Hey ladies,

Well, it's my first day back in the office since the beginning of OCTOBER! It really sucked coming back to work today with Aubrey still being sick. Fortunately DH stayed home with her today and although she still has fever she seems to be resting more comfortably and she's actually staying awake a little today...so hopefully signs of improvement.

I hope all babies are getting better, sounds like there's improvement.
Have a great day...better get back to work.. Crying or Very sad

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing ok today.

Diana - I feel for you girl. Hang in there. I know its hard going back to the office but once you go home its the best feeling in the world. Keep your head up girl and since Aubry is home with your DH you can call as much as you like to check on her. I could call as much as I like but the daycare would really get tired of me. Hang in there girl! ;-)

MichelleL - When your done with your place would you drive a couple of hours and take care of mine? Surprised I am not looking forward to taxes. We ended up paying a ton last year because DH claimed us on his W2 he was supposed to change it but of course he doesnt remember if he did or not. UGH and Grrr!

Shannon - I am glad your ODS had a great report card.YEEAAHH! I hope everyone in your family is feeling better.

Kim - I hope you didnt get hit by the storm too hard and are able to get out and about today.

Kristen - I am glad to hear you are doing good.

AFM - I am just swamped at work today. I am eating lunch at my desk to save time and $$. My neighbor told me she had a gift for Nate and that she would come over in the next couple of days. Now I am trying not to panic. Why did my dog start shedding like a mad man 2 months early? Hopefully I can get home and vacumme before she comes over. I have to do it everyday now or my tan carpet looks like it is turning black. Time to take Shiner to the groomers.
I am having issues staying on my food plan. I just cant seem to do it. I think I may have a touch of depression. I dont know. There is no time to exercise and all I want to do is eat and go to bed. I dont want summer to come. It can stay winter forever for me. I like sweaters I can hide in. Summer means short sleeves and lightweight clothes. Also, I dont know how well Nate is going to handle the 106 degree days.
Has anyone else started to think about what you are doing for your LOs 1st birthday party? I know I am a bit early on this one but it has crossed my mind. Just a passing thought really.

I guess that is it for now. I should go and get back to work. I need more coffee. I have had 2 full nights of sleep but I am SO TIRED!

Take Care!

Have I told you all how much I hate and am sick of snow!!! We have probably about 3 inches already...but it hasn't snowed hard like previous storms, just a steady light snow fall and it is supposed to snow until about noon tomorrow...so I am guessing maybe 5in total. It wasn't bad this morning and Landree's apt went fine...posted about it in the apt. thread...but I do think I have the peanut of the group.

trying to get joey to bed, so no time for personals. I just wanted yall to know that my mom decided not to claim me as a dependent and we got the EIC(earned income credit) so we are finally catching the break we've been waiting for all year. My mom doesn't have to pay in, and we get to claim joey and stuff, so yay! anyways, joey was good all day when we went to H&R Block AND when we stopped by WIC. Well, I think Joey must be asleep now since DH is hanging out by the door. ttyl! tootles!

Eileen- that must be a comical yet annoying post to be at...some of their antics are pretty funny though.

Bekah- So happy that things worked out the way they should, and you guys are getting the money you deserved.

Speaking of taxes, I was pleasantly pleased to see how much we are getting back...substantially more than I guessed, I did mine through Turbo Tax and I got a message saying I might get an extra stimulus payment of $300 in addition to the one we got last year for the addition of Landree....some other Mom's that I know that had babies this year heard the same thing that if you had a baby in 08 you would get a stimulus check for them...any of you hear about this?

have any of you with your current baby or previous babies had them vomitt the day after shots? My mom just called and Landree projectile vomitted...I had her read the paperwork for the shots and it can be a side effect of the rotavirus and the DTP, my concern is that she had these same exact set of vaccinations at 2months and was fine, no issues....I have a call in to the ped but am waiting to hear back from them.

Kim- I heard about the extra stimulus payment. I guess the reason is the payments were advances for 2008 taxes. Cool that you are getting it!!! I wish we had good news this year, but I'm writing a check for $5400 April 15th! :-(((((((

Eileen - I can not imagine what it would be like to work the psych unit in a prison. I've worked psych at the hospital but it was a small facility and the nuttiest person we had thought he was a vampire....everyone else just stayed in their rooms and read or watched tv. He walked the halls and gave us all the creeps.

Bekah - EIC makes a huge difference on your taxes if you qualify! Glad to know ya'll are getting a good return! You'll have some extra money to go shopping! :-)

AFM - Our 11th wedding anniversary is coming up on the 21st. I want to get my DH something really nice. Last year (for our 10th) he gave me this BEAUTIFUL 2 carat three stoned diamond ring that symbolizes past, present and future. We've had our difficulities this past year but he has really stood up to lead our family down the path we should be going. He was having a hard time and thinking I was expecting too much when it really it was our circumstance that was expecting more of him...not me. Finally he's seen the light and I am sooooooooooo happy. I really wondered if we were going to make it after Brenden was born. Any ideas what I can get him to show how much I appreciate his efforts and sacrifices???? Like my ring, it wasn't the cost that impressed me....it was the fact he did it all by himself and bought me something so beautiful because he loves me. I have to find something that means that.....

Michelle- that sucks...but ironically, that is just about what I am getting back...LOL. Paying sucks the big one!!!! Is there something that you know is really special to him, any specific sports team or something you know he would love to buy himself but just has been holding back...I also like personalized gifts...let us know what you come up with.

AFM- heard back from the peds, we are in a wait and see mode, if she vomits at all again she will be going in to be seen.

Kim- Haven't finished our taxes yet but will let you know if we get the extra $300.That would be awsome! Congrats on getting a nice amount back. We're waiting on my 1099R to come in the mail and then we can finish...

Eileen- DH and I have a rifle but I've wanted to learn more about handguns and take that class. My uncle would love to teach me about them since he's a gun fanatic. Of course though our rifle is in a locked case with a trigger lock. And the kids have never seen it.

AFM: So I got a call from a friend who brought her niece to ODS's birthday party. She has lice! So I spent an hour going through everyone's hair and then washing everything in site.Luckily I didn't fine anything but I'm still itchy just thinking about it.I brought DS#2 to the doc for a follow-up and I hopped on the scale and despite the fact that I've been a total pig lately
(so not even exaggerating)I discovered that I was down 2lbs! So I'm re-determined to lose weight!!Later chicas!

Kim- Don't rub it in! LOL I can't believe we have to pay so freakin' much. This is the first year since having a child we've had to pay. My business ventures have always off set DH's income making for a nice refund however, the 4 months I was in business last year my shop brought in more than it had in 3 years combined. Sounds like I hit the bank, but I had to pay vendors, debt, layed off employees, and expenses so I could sell. And to top it off because I owned it on Jan 1, 2008 I have to pay the property tax for all of 2008....sometimes I hate Texas for more than just the hot weather! Grrrrrr. Anyway, I hope Landree does ok. Hopefully it was just an upset tummy from all the tylenol or something.

Shannon - LICE!??!!?? I remember in school someone would get it and the nurse would have to check everybody's hair after PE. It was so freakin' embarressing! Hopefully none jumped over to your kiddos. I think my son would have a heart attack if he was told he had lice....I can just see his face! LOLOLOL
