a lamb.... Texas has been dry for some time now. We won't get rain til god knows when... maybe it will go out like a lion. I really like thunderstorms... just not any that carry tornadoes with them!

Bekah-I LOVE a good storm!!!Well as long as I know DH isn't out driving anyway...Doesn't matter to me if it's a snow storm or thunder and lightening! When I was a baby my mom used to open the door and I'd sit in front of the screen getting soaked but happy as a clam watching the storms... Everyone in my house sleeps through them but me.I'm a light sleeper but I get up to watch them..

I have no idea....just yesterday it was 80 then last night it was in the 30's and today only hit 60. WTF??? I am so sick of the drastic temp changes.....I'm suprised Dawson hasn't gotten sick and I just don't know what I'm gonna do when Brenden does....I can already tell the earth will stop. Last night that turd was up at midnight....so I fed him...but he didn't go back to sleep until after 1am. Then up every FREAKIN' 30 minutes until 5am. Finally I went and woke DH because I was about to chuck the baby out the window.....bad I know. Friday night DH didn't wake me and I was so grateful to sleep thru that I wanted to return the favor but shit....I was about to pass out by the time 5am rolled around.

March Lions and Lambs Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by rocknrollmommy616 Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:28 am

Shannon - I know. I think I love them for a few reasons. One being that my brother and I would get underneath the card table at my dad's when there was a thunderstorm there(like blackened sky kind of thunderstorm and the only light was the lightening tearing through the sky). We would turn off all the lights in the room and just watch the storm crack the sky into pieces! Also it reminds me of my grandmamma(my dad's mom) that passed in 2006. Every time I was over at my dad's, he would get a random phone call on his home phone and I knew EXACTLY who it was b/c my grandmamma would call to tell us a storm was coming or check if we were okay if the3re was already a storm over us. I distinctly remember that about her. Then, back when I lived with my other grandmother(my mom's mom) I would sit on her front porch(it was covered) next to the front door and watch it rain. I lvoed the smell and the sound of raindrops pounding the top of the house or splattering on the walk. Man... i could write endless poems about the beauty of a good thunderstorm. ^_^

Michelle - I know what you mean about feeling bad for your DH when you're trying to return the favor. DH is always taking Joey for me during the night (and its good b/c Joey usually falls right back to sleep after his morning feedings), but I hate not returning the favor. The only problem is, if I were to get up to feed the baby, I would NEVER get back to sleep and then I would be a crying mess b/c I hate not getting enough rest. Sad

AFM - Joey is doing really well, rolling over all the time, and eating solids pretty good. They really help move his bowels! He poops almost every day now! Smile And we are trying to sit him up more so he can learn to balance on his own. He may have that down pretty soon. It's cute watching him topple to the side lol it's usually on a flat surface so it's amusing Smile . I swear to god... he will NOT go to sleep to ANYTHING other than "More Than Words".... and it puts him out pretty quick usually. Of course I want to hit somebody b/c I've heard (and sung) it so many damn times! Does anybody have something they ABSOLUTELY have to do to get their baby to nap AND sleep at night. We are taking walks pretty regularly, and i still want to get him a jumperoo, we're just waiting a little bit. He's almost too big for his swing AND his bouncy. he tries to sit up all the way in them, b/c they are reclined... it's kind of funny. He won't fit into any of his 3 months outfits anymore (AT ALL) and can barely wear his6 months and 3-6 month outfits. 6-9 month outfits are only slightly baggy on him. And he's actually got PLENTY of room in the belly of them, it's just that they are not long enough at all! My mom and her SO were watching a friend's baby the other night here at the house and this kid was like 3/4 Joey's size. He was sooo tiny! And he was 7 months! Joey is only like 5 months! Well anyways, I've babbled on enough... talk to you girls later!

Holy Snow!!! We are burried!!! At least a foot of snow fell overnight!!! I have never been so thankful to be on my day's off! And I think that it is a blessing in disguise that Oscar still can't walk...he would be litterally burried in this stuff. DH made it into work but I don't know if he will have to stay. Seriously who the hell is going to get their oil changed in this stuff. I am still very sick but i don't care cause I am home!!

March Lions and Lambs Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by PolloLoco75 Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:20 am

Good Morning Ladies,

Wow - watching the news all of you lovely ladies in the NE try and stay warm. It looks so neat though. I cant imagine ever having that much snow. I swear here it will snow and ice and then overnight its all gone. It last 3 days max and its never more than like an inch tops. I hear it gets old having so much snow and then the slush but I would take it. Y'all try to stay in if you can!

Well we had a nice relaxing weekend. Watched some Netflix movies, did some laundry and took many showers because Nate kept throwing up all over me. Poor kid. I think he must have another stomach bug. I am happy he hasnt thrown up in over 14 hours so that is something. He isnt eating much - only like 3 oz a feeding. He usually eats 6 or close to it. Poor guy. Hopefully he will be better by the end of the day. Otherwise its back to the doctor for us.

Bekah - I dont know if there is anything we HAVE to do to get nate to sleep but we do have a routine that he really responds to. We have cereal and a bottle then play time and reading then rest while mommy and daddy have dinner. After that its bath time, rub down with sleepy time lotion, jammies and a bottle and poof Nate is in dreamland.

MichelleL - I hear you on the wack weather. It was FREEZING yesterday like in the 30s or something and today its going to be 60 (freezing overnight) and then in the 80s for like the rest of the week. That is during the day and night it will be freeze your butt off temps. What is up with that?

Shannon - Did you get much of the storm where you are?

Kim - I hope your puppy is getting better. I am glad to hear that the peeing has started. Are you keeping diapers on him or still just have him in the laundry room?

I guess that is about it from me for now. We have our big monthly meeting today so I have to go and get a bazillion reports together for it. Whee!

Take Care!

March Lions and Lambs Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by Kristen Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:39 am

Hey Ladies!
Freakin lion here!

Kim- I would say about 6 inches, we had a bit of mix here that was supposed to bring the totals down a little. They say more is on the way. Poor dh got called out from 6:30-10:30 am yesterday and then back again at 8 pm last night. He doesn't know if he'll be home tonight because the warning is until 6 pm. and then it might freeze over! I get so nervous because he didn't get to sleep last night and he's exhausted!! Hope you're feeling better! How's your dog doing any better?

Amy- Sorry to hear Nate's not feeling well. Hope he feels better and eats more!

Michelle- Sorry to hear Brenden didn't sleep well he and Maddie must have talked and planned together!!

Well I'm exhausted! Maddie has always hated sleeping on her back or flat on a surface. So we had bought her this little incline thing with a wedge and would put her sideways and she would sleep really good. Well she started rolling off of it about a week ago so it had to come out. Then I put a reg. wedge and she would move out of it, so I took that out. Now she has been sleeping pretty crappy, waking up every 2-3hours and last night it was every hour until 3am. Most nights by 3 we are so tired, we pull her into bed with us and she sleeps great but I don't want her getting into a habit. Then I noticed she was whiny and I thought the tooth that is coming in was bothering her so I gave her tylenol and she slept until 6:30. It's been like this for at least 6 days and I'm so tired!! Well she's always loved sleeping on us on her belly, so I just tried it in her crib for her nap and she's been out for about 45 min with out a peep and hasn't moved. But I'm too nervous to do this at night time. Does anyone's lo sleep on their belly? She holds her head great, and can roll off of her tummy, plus we have the monitor that sounds an alarm if there is no movement after either 10 or 20 sec. I can't remember which. But I still get so nervous!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Post by ladydy Mon Mar 02, 2009 12:05 pm

Morning ladies,

Still trying to catch up so not too personal.

Kim, sorry he's not making any real improvement and hope u'r feeling better.

Our March was a lamb, cold but dry. By the end of the week we're supposed to be close to 70.

AFM: I had a nice visit with my sister but at her house we woke up Sat morn to ice...I was a little freaked out since I had a 1 1/2 hr drive home but we went to my nephew's basketball game and by the time it was over everything was stopped and cleared.
So I have found that Aubrey likes food WAY better than formula. I'm still just on nighttime cereal and veggie b/c we haven't made it thru all of them and i may speed up the process but as soon as we get thru them she's onto morning cereal with veggies & fruit at night. Last night DH also put some cereal in her last bottle and she slept for 7 hrs. I think we have a new routine that may help the sleep cycle.

Bekah - It's cool that Joey is rolling over!!!! That seriously helps with poop issues!!!! I wish Brenden would get busy....

Kim - So glad you're home!!!! Stay warm and enjoy being snowed in with your girls! Hopefully your DH will get to come home soon! I can't imagine anyone getting their car fixed with that much snow on the ground! I'd be afraid I'd crash it on the way there!

Elise - Snow is so pretty to watch falling from the sky! We have really missed it since moving to Houston! Driving is another story! Stay warm and safe!

Amy - I hope Nate gets this stomach bug out the door soon! Poor kid! I'm not sure what's up with the weather but it's driving me INSANE!

Kristen - Yea, it's baby telepathy....the conspire against us mom's all the time! LOL :-) You know, I wouldn't worry about putting her on her tummy to sleep. If she sleeps well that way then go for it. She is old enough she can turn her head side to side and move something out of her way if she needs too.

Diana - Here's to filling up these kids so we can sleep!!! So happy you found a routine that's working and you're getting some rest!

AFM - My little looney is upstairs in his bed playing and hollering like he's at a hockey game! He should be asleep but as long as he's not fussy I'm letting him stay. We actually got some rest last night...he woke twice very briefly to feed. However, this morning Dawson had diarrhea just as the bus was driving by so I had to take him to school and on the way back Brenden puked in his car seat. Lovely. Once we got home I found dog crap on the bathroom floor. WTF??? Well, we are home cleaning and relaxing today. Hope ya'll have a great Monday!

Michelle- that sounds like a crappy morning...litteraly! I hope the day gets better!

AFM- they just closed DH's shop, yipee!!! so he is on his way home, and I just checked my email and walmart has my jumperoo that I purchased for Landree in (a stationary one, not those door ones that scare me to death) so he is going to pick that up on his way home...I forgot to tell you ladies, we got a new rug, so in taking advantage of the cleanliness, we have had Landree on the floor a lot, and she is a rolling machine! Still no improvement with the dog...now just praying for a miracle in the next few days.

Kim - Logan can roll from his tummy to his back (when he's in the mood), but hasn't quite mastered from his back to his tummy. He gets onto his side, and just when you think he's going to continue, he rolls back onto his back. Oh well! He'll get there soon, I'm sure! Since we've been home all day, he's gotten a lot of on the floor playtime.

AFM: The snow has stopped, and now it's just blowing around. We probably got about 7inches total. Nothing like what they predicted, thankfully! My dad just left - he came over to take the older 2 kids out to play since DH is at work Sad Logan and I just stayed inside.

We moved Logan out of the infant seat yesterday afternoon. He was just so miserable in it and he was getting heavy for me to carry him in it. So, now he's in the convertible car seat, luckily we didn't get rid of the ones we had from DD!! Smile I should probably have some lunch now that Logan is sleeping in his swing (of course, that will be until one of the other 2 manage to wake him up). Hope everyone is enjoying their day!!

March Lions and Lambs Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by Guest Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:54 am

Well my March came in like a lion and it had nothing to do with the weather like some of you ladies ended up getting. I ended up getting up Sunday morning for church and had really bad pain in my back which also radiated towards the front underneath my ribs and I couldn't breath very heavy as that hurt also..it was so horrible I was crying and everything... so as we were already up and planning on going to church in light of the pain we decided the hospital would be our stop...then as we were walking out the door poof pain was gone so we went to church. Well 35 minutes into service back comes the pain again....so waited a bit and decided to go to the hosp. Get there they draw blood start an iv, run tests, do a CT scan take a urine sample come to find out I have an upper UTI...they also noticed a tiny cyst on my ovary.. They are not worried about that though as it could be because my period will be coming within a week or so and sometimes that can cause a cyst and they go away on their own. So they try to give me pain med and antibiotics in the iv before they take it out but my vein collapsed so I got the lovely shot in my butt instead. They gave me a script for antibiotics and pain meds for at home of which I couldn't fill until Monday morning..so yet again I ended up waking up in pain...I tell ya this is the most painful thing I have went thru ever even including natural childbirth....I hope the meds work well and this goes away quick because it sucks....My dh has been really helpful though as I could barely get up out of the recliner to go pee and still had pain in back and under ribs. He pretty much took care of kids all day as I was not much help being in pain and sitting in the chair crying because of it and he also made dinner too.

Oh Joy, how painful!!! I hope you are feeling better soon.

AFM- Lots to do today, new furniture being delivered, old furniture going out the door, grocery shopping and I have to make the dreaded vet apt for tomorrow. There has been no improvement, not even the slightest hint and I just can't make him suffer any longer. Jake and I both have tomorrow off so we will do it then.

Post by mythreesons Tue Mar 03, 2009 10:20 am

Kim- I'm so sorry that he's not doing any better. You and your family will be in my thoughts tomorrow.{{HUGS}}

Joy- Oh how painful!!! I'm glad your DH pitched in and helped out!! When I was fresh out of the hospital before my DH wasn't a big help at all...We had quite the fight about that let me tell you! Oh I had a cyst on my ovary before and it went away on its own just fine. Feel better soon!

Amy-We had bitter bitter cold temps but managed to escape the snow...Although this morning we had a light dusting.I wish we got more snow at least it would hide the dog poop I didn't get cleaned up.LOL

AFM- I seriously could've sworn that I posted yesterday...But when I went back to see what I posted so I didn't re-post the same stuff, I hadn't posted at all...Someone stole my post Suspect Just kidding but I did think I posted.Oh well...Lucas has been downright grumpy the last couple days and refuses to take a nap unless Im holding him(yeah cause that;s feasible). He'ss till great at night but his day naps are just not working..It was a really crazy weekend so maybe thats part of it...We went to the hockey game Friday and had a GREAT time! I had ODS stomping the bleachers with me!!Lucas fell asleep during the first quarter and DS#2 fell asleep during the final quarter. Saturday we had an art showing at the Museum of Youth Art for one of ODS pieces he did in school. Then we came home had lunch and headed out to see my grandfather for his 80th birthday.Last time we saw him was several years ago just because of how far away he is.But it was fun because it was a surprise party and I saw relatives I hadn't seen in many many many years. Some were little kids so I felt like I knew no one.Everyone is scattered across the states so its almost impossible for the whole family to get together when there's 12 brothers and sisters and dozen of grandkids...Anyway it was nice but since then Lucas has been miserable!!!Ugh speak of the devil he's crying so more later!

Post by MichelleL Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:52 am

Kim - So sorry there hasn't been any improvement! I had high hopes! I'll be thinking about ya'll tomorrow! :-(

Joy - That just sounds horribly painful! I hope you are feeling better now! Isn't it nice when the DH steps up??

Shannon - Brenden's been grumpy too....must be going around! Sounds like your family get together was fun! We don't have many either so it's nice when we do....and sometimes it's down right uncomfortable.

AFM - Last night was the night from HELL. Tony woke me at 3am to feed the baby, it was his first time to get up but since it was past 1am I had to feed him. He wouldn't go back to sleep until 4am. Every time I put him in his crib and got nestled into the bed he would start fussing....I rocked him 4 freakin' times before he finally went to sleep but then he was up at 5am and again at 6am. I am so tired. He's down for his nap now but I here monkey business going on thru the monitor so he'll be a pill when I go get him. I don't understand this...he was doing so well until last week. The schedule was working so nicely! They are having big meetings at DH's work today....we think this is the day they will start annoucing lay-offs for his department. Please, if you have time, say a little prayer that he does not lose his job. I used to think it might not be so bad if he did...he could find another company and a better job. But no one is hiring. It is so scarey!

Post by PolloLoco75 Tue Mar 03, 2009 12:24 pm

Morning Ladies,

Kim - I am so sorry your puppy isnt better. I will be thinking of your family tomorrow. I really hoped the meds would have worked.

Joy - Ouch! I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. I am glad your DH is helping out. It’s nice to know he will step up when necessary.

MichelleL- I have your DH's job in my thoughts. Here is hoping the lay offs dont include him. I am sorry Brenden is making it rough. I have heard that once they get on a good schedule a week or so in they can regress but they do get back to it. I think I read it on a BBC article. Where its part of their development. I hope he gets back to it quick!

Shannon - It sounds like you had a busy but fun weekend. That is so neat that DS's artwork was featured at the museum. I hope Luc gets back on track. Its amazing how some small things can throw them all off.

AFM - Fussy baby in the Hizzy! Wow! Nate's teeth are really bothering him. He has become Mr Fussy. He just cant get comfortable and everything he does or you do upsets him. Totally out of character for him. Luckily he slept through the night for the most part. He started fussing about 3 AM and I waited listening - from my bed 1/2 asleep and he went back to sleep with in 5 minutes. He never got to screaming so he was just fussin. He finally woke up for the day at 6:30 so not too shabby. However, I tried to file his nails and that set him off to no end! Our Pediatrician said not to use the topical pain relief like oragel etc if we can avoid it so now my DH thinks its like the plague. So we only give him tylenol and waiting the 20 minutes for it to kick in can be fun.
Other than that not much going on here. I have a DA today at 1:30. I am not excited but I will go. I seriously considered cancelling so many times. My DH would kill me if I did.

I guess that is it for now. I should get back to work even though I really don’t want to.

Take Care!

Hey ladies,

Joy, I hope u'r feeling better soon. I hate to hear that u'r in that much pain. You know Aubrey's been fighting a UTI for a month and I hate to think she was in that much pain.

Kim, So sorry things didn't improve. You will all be in my thoughts.

Shannon, it's nice to see the family you haven't seen in years and then sometimes it's nice that you don't have to see them in years...LOL! Glad you enjoyed your party.
It must be in the milk. Aubrey seemed to be in a good mood this morning when I left for work but yesterday she was a little needy and she is SOOO not a needy baby.

Michelle, I will say a prayer...not to be a downer, but it is scarey. It's good your DH has a skill. My DH has his lab experience but that's it, it's only experience b/c he was there 22 years, he has nothing in writing. He starts school on the 23rd to get a mechanic certification just to have a piece of paper.

Amy, good luck at the Dr today. sorry u'r little guy is having to deal with the teething. i heard that orajel wasn't the best b/c it could numb their throat and they could choke. i haven't asked my ped yet.

AFM:not much going on here...at work, have lots to do but of course i'm on here.
I'm supposed to have jury duty starting Monday. I had to write a letter for the judge to approve a change b/c Aubrey is rechecked at the Dr's office on Monday and gets her 4 month shots (on her 5 month bday) then the next Mon she has the test at Children's Hosp and I don't want to be on a case and not be able to go...

Diana-I've served on a jury before...If you actually get to the point where you are before the judge on a panel all you have to say is that you don't believe that you can be impartial to the case. And you're out of there...I actually wanted to serve and had a blast for the most part.

Amy- Did the doctor say why not to use orajel?Just wondered if there's a medical reason as to why...Know what seems to help Luc? Take a clean(duh) wash cloth and wet it down in one spot. Then throw it in the freezer for about a half hour or so...He seems to like the rough texture and the cold seems to help...

AFM: So I gave Lucas a bath this morning and nursed him for a few minutes and as he got drowsy, I put him on his belly in his crib for a nap...he slept for 1 1/2 hours!!!!!OMG!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Nope not excited at all... he he he! So that may be what we have to do for naps from now on.He sleeps fine at night so...ok well guess thats all for now....Later e-mommas!!

Hi Everyone. I am back from the Doctor. I actually like this doctor. She is really nice, knoledgeable and funny. We became "close" and after my exam she gave me a referral to a G.I. doc. So there will be more probing in my future I am sure. Wheee!
