Welcome to our home little Joseph Jonathan!!

Well girls, its been a whole new world of craziness for me the past 3 days. Joseph Jonathan Ward has arrived!!!

On Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008 at 8:30am, the nurse started me on pitocin to induce contractions! It was a very long day from there on out. I was just waiting. They put me on an IV narcotic at first called Stadol(which made me act drunk and was pretty darn funny), but was given an epidural promptly after the IV drugs wore off. Nobody told me that I would not be able to move my legs once I got it, lol. Anyways, around 9pm I started feeling a LOT of pressure down there and asked if the epidural was wearing off or what? No, they said, I was 9 1/2 centimeters dilated. I told the nurse I was getting the urge to push and she was like, "nooo, net yet."(she was very cheerleadery) But my doctor came in around 9:20 and said, "okay, let's have a baby!" I started pushing at 9:24pm and little Joseph came into the world at 9:42pm! He weighs 8lbs 12oz and measures 20in long! He is very cute and cuddly and pretty well mannered, so far! He is slightly jaundiced(what baby isn't? lol), but it should be easy to get rid of as long as he gets a good deal of sun (not a lot, I dont want him to burn Sad

). Unfortunately I got a third degree tear, which doesn't hurt too terribly bad. I am failing miserably at breast feeding, but I still give it all I've got before I give into the formula. My muscles ache pretty bad and my back hurts where they put the epidural, but I'm doing pretty well. DF has taken a week and a half off and we are going to try to learn how to take care of this little burrito of ours! We applied for medicaid the day b4 I was induced and we have an interview for that on the 6th, as well as an interview for WIC on the 4th! I have some serious busy-ness goin on here in the next week or so, so I may not be on very often. Sad

He is the most amazing baby and I hope that those of you who are pregnant are as lucky and in love with your babies as I am! I've never been so in love in my whole life! Wish me luck with this little one!
