Jeremiah Robert made his entrance finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just figured I would announce my lil guy's arrival on here. As you all already knew I was going in for induction on Monday Oct 6th. So we get to the hospital at 6 am Got iv put in pitocin drip started..mind you they had to try 3 times to get it in and ended up putting it in the crease of my right arm(Go figure so signing forms was fun as I am right handed) So I had to be careful to not bend my arm up as that would slow down the pitocin drip. My dr came in at 6:53am checked and I was dilated to 3-4cm still about 75% thinned out he then broke my water. 8:05AM nurse came in upped the pit drip at that time my contractions were between 3-5 min apart. 10am after a few more increases on pitocin drip nurse came in and checked cervix again still was about the same thinness but contractions were now steady at about 3 min apart and dilated to 5 cm. 11:15 am Nurse came in again upped pitocin for the last time to 48 (they started it a 6) checked my progress was 80% thinned out dilated to 7 cm contractions 2 min apart although some felt like they were never ending. At that time she had asked me if I wanted any pain meds as they would have to be gotten then or not at all because of the risks of it transferring to baby and making him less alert at delivery. I told her that since I was already to 7 cm I was going to just try and see if I could make it without meds I knew for sure no epi though and told them that when I got there even though I had to sign consent anyways... So proceeded on without meds. That poor hospital bed I am glad they make em sturdy because me gripping on it surely would have broken a less sturdy bed. Hubby made a wise crack about glad he wasn't holding my hand to the nurse because it would be broke and the nurse called him a chicken..LOL he said no I am just being honest I know my wife's strength. alright so back to the labor story 11:48am nurse came back in checked me I was dilated to 9cm. At this time the contractions weren't really going away before another would start and I could feel the urge to push and could feel the baby pushing downward but the nurse kept telling me not to push and I was a bit edgy and said well I am trying not to push but the baby is pushing his own self down and my body is responding to that on its own. So finally my dr got there and I remember pushing 3 or 4 times I think it was and Jeremiah was out. He was born at 12:16pm weighed in at 8lb7oz 21 inches long head circ was 14. So I made it through delivery without pain meds whatsoever.. even though I was fully intending to give in and get iv meds if needed but I ended up backing out of getting anything after hearing that it could pass to baby.

Congrats Joy!! Sounds like all went well. You have such a beautiful family. Hope he's sleeping well and everyone is getting settled in.

omg joy one of my nurses said the same thing about not pushing and i wanted to clock her!!!! congrats girl, he's a cutie!

Congrats - he's adorable! What a trooper you are -- I'm looking forward to an epiduryl this time! *crossing her fingers* I went for basically my whole labor w/o them (until right before pushing) and it was NOT so much fun. hehe. Anyways - congrats to you and your fam!
