Ok I have a question. After vaginal childbirth- how long until all of your girly parts snap back into shape? I know - no sex for 6 weeks to let things "recover". That is for safety and birth control. I want to know how long until they seem "normal". Do they ever seem "normal" again?

Good question...I had a c-section so I can't help, but I know my bladder control has never been the same since my first daughter and that sucks when you sneeze real hard.

I dunno, Amy. I heard that all of your body pretty much goes back to normal after about 4 months. But thats your organs going back into place and your uterus shrinking to normal again. But since I'm a FTM too, I don't ACTUALLY know. But... that's what i read. heh. HTH

DS was a vaginal birth and that was 7 years ago (almost 8 ), so I will try to remember....it seems to me that after the 6 wk checkup I felt "normal" again...I wasn't too keen on anything intimate before the 6wk checkup, though...but once we got the all clear from the doc things got back to normal.....was harder after DD - she was a c-section -- that was a longer recovery and took me longer to feel ready....probably closer to 3-4 months after she was born....

tweetie- I was the opposite! after vaginal birth I was horrible and it was like 6 months until I could think about it. my episiotimy tore all the way back though. Interestingly enough I was told I was tighter after that.
After the c section with my second I had sex 2 weeks after, my doctor told me in front of my husband I could ahve sex. i could of killed her but everything worked well.

both of my kids were vaginal births. we didn't make it to the 6 weeks. we made it to the 5 week. and i wish i would have waited. i tore when i had my oldest. it hurt so bad. with my 2nd living conditions weren't great. we were building our house and living with my mom..so i don't remember when we got it on...but i do remember with my oldest it was painful for around 9 months or so. gentle was the key word. but that is just me i know of ladies that have had no problems...

I've only had a c-section so I can't say for sure. The recovery itself wasn't so bad. I don't remember how long I waited but even now sometimes I just don't feel the same. I have changed my tune to a more gental one as well.

Burning Questions!!! Empty Burning Question

Post by eileen bauer Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:43 am

AFM- Okay TMI alert but seriously my doctor tells me I have a very "deep hooha" and that could cause all sorts of problems for me in childbirth (I am having a C-section) I had a bunch with my first when I delivered vaginally. The baby didn't want to come out and they had to vacume her and all this stuff and get some special forcepts becasue I was so "deep" and so on. Has anyone ever heard of this? I know they always have to get out this special pair of tools when I go for normal Ob appointments but I mean am I that abnormal? When she gave me the choice of C-section or VBAC I was like well and she pointed out that she prefers VBAC but that with the "deep hooha" it will be a very difficult and tough labor. I was like well sign me up for the c-section. but man you would think if I was so deep I would have issues getting pregnant verses if my husband looks at me funny I get preggo. anyways

Okay one more vent...acne. I have resigned myself to having acne everytime I am pregnant. But really I mean shoulders, okay no tank tops in texas in the summer I can hang, face looking like I am 13 again ok can't wear makeup anyways skin is way too oily, now it is on my neck, my neck line and chest. I have little ones on my neck line and chest looks great and 2 big huge ones on my neck on either side just enough to the side so my hair doesn't cover them. I mean really like I am not demorealized enough with the face really the neck! And they hurt! my badge for work that I wear around my neck bumps it all day and it hurts. I swear if some little kiddo asks me about I will scream!

Sorry about the TMI it has been a burning question

(tmi alert) my 1st vaginal del i had 3 stitches and it hurt really bad. i had also had a epi so i was very uncomfortable after birth. peeing was a nightmare! i del on the 4th and on the 30th was my significant otheres b-day and we tried having sex, but it felt like i was tearing all over (sorry tmi) so we couldnt proceed. with my 2nd vaginal (7 years later) i did not tear, but dr says it was b/c baby was smaller. not significantly though. and had no meds. so i felt wonderfull after delivery and was able to pee normally, and walk around. i felt like going home right after.....at 6 weeks i still felt horrified of sex, but we managed.....slowly and gentle like pp said. on the outside it never looks diffrent, but im assuming on the inside eveything has to go back to normal. i sill ask my dh if he sees my "stuff" diffrent, but he doesnt seem to.
on breaking out...i just noticed upper arms breaking out, but i think its more like a hear rash, not too bad but i noticed it a few weeks ago. and now im starting to break out on my face. ive never had an acne problem, and im not the kind to break out especially in my face, so im not likeing it....

question: my breast are sooooo very tender, they hurt more than at the beggining.....anyone else....ive had to stop wearing my bras and am wearing my sports bras because they seem more comfortable......i did the same last pregnancy too.

Funny how things hurt. I don't have a ton of pain anyone place, but there are definately a lot of "extra sensative" < >> areas. My DF has been working a lot of nights and I have to be to work at 6a so unfortunately those areas all seem pretty neglected at the moment. TMI question...has anyone elses libido increased like mine has??

My libido has not... unfortnately. Or we could look at it as fortunately because my DH wants nothing to do with that right now. It doesnt matter who tells him what - it FREAKS him out. He is willing to wait. That and with the pain I am in (hips, tummy, back) the though of doing it is just a bummer. Now check with me 6-8 weeks post pardum... That will be a different story.

Shay- mine has in the last 2 weeks so i guess starting around 31 weeks or so it increased. But hubby is not ever in the mood as I go to bed at 8 when the kids do and he doesn't until like midnight. I may try something this weekend it has been over 2 months and I am going crazy...lol hey the nurses tell me sex is a great way to relive pressure with the endorphins and supposedly the fluids soften your cervix. my doctor told me that. tried that with my second the entire week before I had him and i still was 0cm and not efaced at all up to and past my due date. I swear my body just likes being pregnant or torturing me...lol

My libito was nutz for the first bit started to calm a bit by the sixth month which sadly is when my husband actually got back from Temporary duty assignment  so he missed all the prego love he says. He has been very into me but I’m like ugh don’t touch me I just want to lay here and not have to pee for like five seconds..
We were told that his ummh.. stuff? Can soften and lengthen the cervix also he heard something about the baby getting his immunities from that but I donno if I believe that one. I do know that it’s a great way to put the baby to sleep. If I’m having a really bad night of being gouged and poked kicked and wallerd it can work wonders to relieve the pressure of the saddle area as well as rock the baby to sleep. Though it seems a bit cruel…

unfortunately my libido has pretty much left the building. I don't actually have real urges to have sex, DF has to work for it lol. It hurts a little for me, cuz i can't get into a comfortable position so... Sad But I told myself I'm going to have to suck it up because sex is supposed to soften up your cervix for birth and stuff. I told DF he should be excited cuz he's gunna start getting lucky more often lol. I already just want this baby out!!!!

I posted this question on the october board but figured I can use all the feedback I can get. So anyone have blood pressure issues? I am having weird symptoms and go to the doctor monday so just trying to read about it. The top of my stomach is tender and I am having some nausea, I get these periodes of feeling kind of out of it sometimes dizzy. Is this all because of the blood pressure? I have never had blood pressure issues before. I figure my doctor will address the blood pressure if it is still up she didn't seem to worried about it. My doctor doesn't get excited ever. She also says everything is because I am so heavy. She is a good doctor but she is a stick and doesn't get it. just wondering if anyone else has issues with blood pressure and if they do what their doctor has done. I can't afford to be on bed rest unless it is like a week and that is it. I don't have time saved up at work and frankly work is not stressful. home is stressful. I have mentioned I have my train wreck of a mother living with me and I have told her she has to leave she has been out of town for 2 weeks and things have been so nice and wonderful. She can't leave till Feb for legal reasons but she wil be out. So the stress of that could be making my blood pressure go up right? How do I tell the difference if it is just stress or gestational hypertension?

I have the exact same symptoms as you but no high BP - I will even go down to our school nurse to have it checked..all I can think of is low blood sugar (which I can get)..or if I am dehydrated and need to drink more water. I also cannot get up too fast or I see spots and feel dizzy. Can you call your Dr. and explain the symptoms or go to a local Walgreens to check your BP yourself?

Eileen- I had pregnancy induced hypertension with dd, and I didn't feel anything like that, the only noticeable symptoms were swelling and headaches, fluid retention and BP issues go hand and hand. The nausea I would seriously contibute to no more room in the belly...I am often nauseous now, along with a fluctuation in blood sugar and lack of fluids like Heather said...I really think a lot of what you are feeling is third trimester symptoms, I feel like crap, almost as bad as I did the first trimester.
