Mommy's Appointments

I had my 8 week PP check-up and was not impressed at all with my doctor today...There was no exam of any type at all...I had that exam 2 weeks ago at my 6 week PP checkup...I dragged a grumpy baby and a sick pre-schooler out in the rain/snow just for him to tell me I can stop taking my blood thinner shots.Woohoo to that!But seriously couldn't he have just called me and told me that or else told me that at my last appointment?!I go back yet again in 2 weeks to finally get my Mirena...I'm soooo irritated!!!Condoms are not fool proof!!!On top of that when I got in my car this morning on the way I had my keys in hand to put them in the ignition and one felt weird..I look and my house key is bent in half...yes I said in half and there was a crack in it...I did the same thing after Luc's first pediatrician appointment and it broke off in my door!I called DH and he told me to try and fix it...Um ok...So I used pliers at the doctors office(hope they don't use that on the patients )and yup it snapped off...BIG SURPRISE, right?!So I had to go get his house key to be able to get back into the house again...Then my windshield wiper broke on the way home...Well it didn't break so much as it actually just flew off as I drove...That I laughed at hysterically!!!!So that's my day so far and it's just after noon....

Bekah you're right I didn't eat soap...But I did get quite the chuckle when I read that you did..That must have tasted awful!!!

Shannon things always seem to happen to you! when are you ever going to get a break...lol good luck on the mirena getting mine was rough and now i may have to have it out because it is not at the top of my uterus. ug.

Eileen - That's weird. My doctor originally waited to put mine in. not only because she wanted to do it during AF, but because my uterus hadn't shrunk back to its normal size. maybe that is your problem? Or was it you that said you had a weird cervix? In any case I'm really sorry it didnt turn out well. It hurt though, didn't it? I felt like I could just die!

Shannon- It did! YUCK! I think my mom made me eat soap one time... but I don't remember it tasting that horrible. Probably because of selective memory.

Eileen- That sucks that you now have to get it out.I remember you posting that it didn't go in right and that they were going to wait and see if it repositioned itself correctly, is that right?What will you use now for BC?

Bekah-Umm soap...wonder if anyone will serve that as a side dish at Thanksgiving...LOL/JK!!! Seriously though...When my ODS decided that he liked swearing since he hears daddy do it, soap in the mouth corrected it really quick after time outs didn't work...Just remember Joey is cute and innocent now, but wait until he gets older...Small kids small problems, big kids bigger problems...

actualy it didn't and hubby didn't feel the string so it isn't causing problems.

Well I cannot post about my 6(or technically was at 7wk) post partum check up because AF was visiting and wouldn't leave in time for monday's appt so I had to cancel it....grrrr and to schedule another appt I would not have gotten in until Dec 29th. And my medicaid is only good until Jeremiah is 2 months old(which will be on dec 6th he turns 2 months). So I couldn't get one. So looks like I'll have to probably go to the health dept and get it done there for little or no cost... But I really don't like going there for this kind of stuff..grrrr[i]

Well, my SO said he could feel the sting. I have yet to make a new appointment. I'm going to see if it just moves up or softens or something. I actually tried to feel for it and I could! If that thing was poking me in the "stuff" I'd be pissed too..LOL

So I was really parinoid about getting pg before I got my IUC.. but now I still feel wierd about it. I hadn't gotten AF yet and we had been DTD for about 3 weeks. Well then when they put the IUC in she said.. ah 4 weeks of bleeding and what not. Ok no biggie. I got (sorry TMI) 1 or 2 big clots about 1 hour after getting it put in and then bled for (count it..) ONE day. I keep waiting for something to happen, but nothing. I'll get crampy like maybe AF is coming.. nope. Do you think that's normal?

wait they told you that you will bleed for 4 weeks after getting the mirena??

That you CAN bleed/spot for 4 to 6 weeks. She said for some people it's less, for some it's more. She said some pepole end up having it taken out because after 3 months they are still spotting everyday.

well that about clears up my concerns. I was up like an hour or so last night with SEVERE cramps. I have been bleeding for a couple of days. And DF felt the string too, didn't poke him, but he felt it. I had complained beforehand about feeling like that string was poking me and lo and behold that's exactly what it was. Everytime I say something, my mom is like, "that's just your imagination." I'm like, "look lady, just cuz you had one doesn't mean you know everything about them!" it really does poke my cervix sometimes..

So I got my Mirena today...I was just laying on the table and waiting for my doc to start and he says"How does that feel?" I'm like "I don't feel anything" so he says"Great we're about 90% done already so you'll do just fine." I felt nothing...Some cramping afterward for about 2 hours but even thats gone...I didn't manage to drink the soap either(Sorry Bekah-LOL)Still bleeding just a bit, but I was so prepared for it to be really painful!I go back in a month to have it checked just to make sure it hasn't slipped or anything...

i dunno Shannon. I just have a REALLY low threshold for pain and my cervix is a feisty little thing! She said my cervix cramped up as she started to put it in and that's why it hurt so bad! Well I'm glad it wasn't painful for you hun! But you probably don't have an angry cervix lol. I am spotting here and there but sex is okay. Sometimes I feel the string but usually not for long. Hooray for not having more babies for at least 5 years! lol ^_^

Well I have an appt scheduled at the health dept on 12/17/08 but nothing grand about that lol

Bekah- It may help that I've had 3 kids and that could have alot to do with it...Or maybe I was just expecting the worst so it wasn't bad in comparison.So if anything you telling me how painful it was had me prepared for the worst but it wasn't that bad...So in a roundabout way, thanks!
