Hey Mommies Smile

I had a Dr.'s appt on Wednesday. I was supposed to be 22 weeks on Monday but on Wednesday I measured 26 weeks. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I measured two to three weeks ahead almost my entire pregnancy. I also had gestational diabetes and often had to go for measurement ultrasounds because of measuring ahead...I was told I was going to have a big baby, over 8lbs...ummm she was only 7lbs 8oz, so try not to worry to much.

I've measured big for the past month or so -- until the last visit where I actually went down (SO WEIRD). I measured a good 2 weeks ahead, but this last couple of visits they say I'm measuring way different (and the confusing part is that baby hasn't dropped - and I'm in my 39th week!)

this happens often if you are plus-sized. I kept measuring ahead a couple of weeks too. Sometimes you actually are, and sometimes you aren't. I think it depends on how much experience your doctor has with the "fluff" issue KWIM? I think its pretty common for us ladies... unfortunately. Keep your head up, it's probably a glitch in your doc's measurements. Kim is right! She kept measuring ahead and her baby wasn't as big as they thought it would be. BUT on the flip side, I was told I was measuring big and my little boy was 4 ounces shy of nine lbs and he was two weeks early! But I didn't eat very healthy. Sometimes I think Kim was lucky because she had gestational diabetes and she COULDNT eat junk food. I ate all that crap and my baby got big! So.. eat healthy and believe me, it'll be less likely for you to have a very large baby! Good luck! ^_^

BTW: 8 lb babies are common and not as big as you'd think. I thought my LO looked normal, so I was worried what he'd have looked like at 6 lbs(which i think they say is normal newborn weight)!

My daughter weighed 8 lbs 7 1/2 oz so, unless its a 10 lb baby, I'm not too terribly worried about the size lol....Just concerned that I could actually be farther along than what I thought because my last period was a few days late and also very short and very light. Of course if I am further along, that is fine with me....I'm tired of the back pain! lol. Due to medicaid issues, I couldnt actually get in with the doctor that I have right now until this last appointment. He is the doctor that delivered my daughter, as well as, the rest of the babies in my family. So I trust him immensely! I was so afraid I was going to be stuck with the quack that told me that I was too big to see my baby on ultrasound Sad

what a D-Bag! I'm sorry you had to deal with that! I hope you gave him a piece of your mind.. the jerk. That's true too tho, they may have the EDD wrong. Mine was off by a week, of course I knew that throughout my pregnancy! I kept telling her I thought she set me up a week later than he was supposed to be due according to my last period. But I got lucky and was induced at 37 wks and 6 days because of mild pre-eclampsia(no high BP, but spilling protein into my urine and a bit of swelling and headaches). Well talk to your doctor a little more and see why he thinks you may be a few weeks ahead.

From what I have heard it shouldn't be anything you should worry about. I can't speak from experience, I have never been measured.
