Re: February Valentines!
Oh Michelle- I can deffinitly sypathize, I just called DH and told him I quit and relayed the newest events of the day, the vomitting and shit...and he was like, I hate to cut you short but the big bosses are here, and I was like I don't care, tell them your kids are really sick and come home, that is what you have sick time for...and he was like well who would work. Argh!
Shannon- we have been staying away from dairy, I think it will knock her out...she has been pretty mellow. They have us doing it every 4-6 hours (right now I am doing every 4) for 5 days. They didn't take x-rays but if I don't see improvment by Sunday I am calling (they have special hours on the weekends)

Re: February Valentines!
Kim- My DH has said the same thing when I've called him up to my elbows in vomit and crap. And he didn't come home either...In my past experience, when they feel crappy the first few days, they fall asleep from the albuterol. After the first 2 days or so, it makes them really wound up...But it does help. I really feel for ya! It's tough being in your shoes(not to mention McKenna's)
MichelleL-I feel for you and Kim!!

Re: February Valentines!
Shannon, MichelleL and Kim --- sorry your kids are all sick
Ok - here's the scoop....the "interviews" seemed to go well. DH feels that he has a good shot at it. We probably won't know anything before next week, but if the people who they say are making the decision really do, then it will most likely happen. But, me being the pessimist, says since they have posted the position externally, they'll string him along until July when his office officially closes and then say "thanks but no thanks." That is just my luck. As much as I'd miss being close to my parents for the help and support, in a lot of ways I really want to move. I never really wanted to come back to CT and especially not the town I grew up in, but it's just the way life worked out!
Now, I just can't wait until about 12:30pm tomorrow - 'cause that's when we go to the airport to pick up DH!!!!! These past 2 days haven't been the worst, but they definitely could have been better!

Re: February Valentines!
I hope things really do work out for you Elise...if my Dh had gone off these last few days I don't think I would have made it...it has been bad enough when he has been at work.
AFM: Landree is not sounding to good, she has the same wet phlegmy cough, her temp isn't as high (yet) but I would rather be safe than sorry and calling the office when they open at 9am

Oh Kim - you're really not having a good weekend!! But you're right, when it rains, it pours!! I'm glad that the kids were healthy this week!! If I had sick kids and DH out of town, I think I would have lost my mind!!! Hopefully, Landree and McKenna will get better soon!

Re: February Valentines!
Kim- How McKenna doing? Is she any better?Just so you know its the same dosage for either kid for thealbuterol...
Re: February Valentines!
Landree is in the clear for now, her lungs sound fine so for her it is just a bad cold...but I had them recheck McKenna because even after Tylenol she still had a temp of 101...so they rechecked her and she developed an ear infection in the last 24hrs, which would explain why last night she was in so much pain. The only problem is she refuses to take her antibiotics and if you force her she will puke...so we are going to try to disguise it tonight in some pudding or yougurt on the Dr's recommendation and if she won't take it she will go back in tomorrow and get it in shot form which will hurt, but in some ways I don't care, I would rather her hurt for a little bit than fit her for the next 10 days...oh and monday is my birthday, and I am just loving my gift from my girls...can't ya tell!

Re: February Valentines!
I hope all the sick LO'S get better soon and give the mommas a rest for awhile. I remember just a few short weeks ago all three of my kiddos being sick with bronchitis and feeling like a medicine peddler.. All three were on antibiotics 2-3 times a day and Faith and Jeremiah were to be on Albuterol twice a days and Elijah was on eye drops twice a day for eye infections.. it was crazy... I am so glad that's over with. Am hoping they stay in the clear from now on...Jeremiah was the difficult one to take his antibiotics.....almost puked a few times
I agree with Shannon HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MICHELLE!!!!!

Re: February Valentines!
Awwww thanks guys!!!! We've actually had a good Anniversary today! DH slept upstairs with Brenden, who thank God only woke up twice, to give me the entire night to sleep!!!! What a gift! My first full nights sleep since April! :-) I don't think I even moved from 9:30pm - 7:00am! LOL Anyway, I think Brenden has passed whatever was going on. It could have very well been that he had outgrown his zantac....which is still shocking because I thought he was actually outgrowing the reflux! Silly me! Anyway, we had some shopping to do today so we hit the mall, got the few things we were looking for, went to lunch at Carrabas (which was FABULOUS), ran to Lowe's and I got a new dishwasher (which I needed very much), and then to Target for some groceries. Every year when DH gets his bonus Dawson gets a "bonus" and can pick out a new toy so he got some Star Wars stuff and we got Brenden the big Einstein playmat. It was so nice to see them in the living room playing with their new treasures! I thought Brenden was going to lose his voice he was yelling and laughing so hard while playing! This playmat is far bigger and far better than the small rainforest one we had! Anyway, we tired from running for 8 hours today but we all had a good time! :-) Tomorrow I have to pick up everything for my week of catering. I'm used to having a truck deliver what I order so having to get it will be interesting. I really hope I can swing this catering week! I'm a little worried because Brenden will be with me but it should only take about 2 hours to complete and my sister is working with me so she will be delivering on days DH isn't home with the baby. She is also fast, dependable, and understands I have to take care of the baby too! When I had my shop we cooked about 80 - 100 lunches a day and only had from 8am to 11am to get them done. I only do buffet style so that makes it easier but it's a lot of food!
Kim - I hope your girls get over this soon! Luckily you have a wonderful DH who helps! I can't imagine having TWO young ones sick! Atleast Dawson can fen for himself if he has to....McKenna still needs ya' a bunch! Hang in there!
Elise - I hope everything works out for your DH and this job! It would be awesome if ya'll moved to Texas!!! What did he think of the city while he was there?
Shannon - You didn't write anything about yourself! So, how is your weekend going?
Joy - I can only imagine how crazy it was having THREE sick kids! I just don't see how you do it......

Re: February Valentines!
She is one stubborn 2 1/2 year old...and I am not fighting her anymore, it isn't worth my mental health...so we are headed back to the Dr. to get the antibiotics in shot form...maybe that way she will learn to just take her medicine next time....then my whole family is coming over for pizza and cake tonight...I hope they don't mind a dirty house, cause I am so not cleaning.

Re: February Valentines!
Kim - My best friend has a daughter who reacts like McKenna does! She brought her to me to give her medicine hoping she would take it and I told her if she didn't her mom was gonna have to take her to get a shot....she still refused. My friend didn't want to take her to get the shot and I told her she had to or her daughter was going to get much worse so she finally listened and as they were about to leave I made she that little girl knew the only reason she was getting a shot was because she was refusing her medication. My friend is so not the disciplinarian and would just let her get away with anything (she has 3 kids). Anyway, that was the only time it came to that. Mia is now 7 (she was 2 when this happened) and she will take anything if you remind her of the shot that didn't have to be! LOL I hope everything goes well!

Re: February Valentines!
Kim- Both my older boys used to make themselves throw up if we forced medicine into them...So we started using little syringes and putting it in the side of their cheek and squirting just a little bit at a time and when we were done and they'd kept it down we'd give them a few m&m's.Now they take it with nothing more than a few "aww mom's" and a few faces...I hope the shot helps her and maybe it'll convince her to just take the medicine next time....
MichelleL-I'm glad you had a nice day! Sounds like a busy week ahead of you.I'm kinda jealous and wish I had something to do like that...But I'm excited for you!Mind if i live vicariously through you for while?Oh and I didn't post anything because DH and argued on and off most of the day about whether to set up our 75gallon tank...I want it up and he doesnt...But it's his from before we were together...Just not like him to not want a tank...He hadabout 6 tanks when we first got together and now we just have a 30 gallon tank which he never does anything with set up in the kids room. Bah...
AFM; So I cleaned up DS's fish tank again yesterday and I'm getting some fish today for it...I'm missing having a bunch of tank with different fishy projects going in each one.I knew NOTHING about fish when I met DH.In fact he set up my first tank for me when we first started dating. But I learned a ton and can very easily take care of most any tank...But he doesn't have the time to take care of them and I do. Sigh...Stupid battle I know..

Re: February Valentines!
it hurt and she so wasn't happy about it...and I hope it did the trick to scare her, because she now has a double ear infection, and she now has two choices, finish the round of antibiotics in liquid form...or go in for another round of shots tomorrow and possibly tuesday depending on how her ears look. She isn't really eating anything so it is impossible to disguise it in food, we tried the syringe trick too...works like a charm on Landree, McKenna will still make her self puke. Seriously since Friday I have spent $116 on medical supplies, co-pays and prescriptions.

Re: February Valentines!
Hey Ladies,
I don't have much time for personals but I have a few I can't forget:
Michelle- Happy belated Anniversary, hope your day was nice!
Kim- Happy Birthday! Hope you are able to enjoy your day! Hope the girls are feeling a little better!!
Amy- I sent the Nutramigen on Friday morning. I sent it 2-3 day mail so it should be there anytime now. If you don't get it by tomorrow, please let me know because I got delivery confirmation on it. Sorry it was a little late, it ended up being a busier week than I thought.
Afm- Well I barely slept at all. We have the baby monitor that sounds an alarm when the baby doesn't move in 10 seconds. Well, Sat. night the warning alarm went off. DH and I flew into the room. Maddie had moved up to the corner of the crib and was sideways. Her face was in the bumper. I moved her really quick and it scared her and woke her up. I honestly don't think she had stopped breathing, I think she was off the sensors for the monitor because she was in an awkward postition at the top. But last night I kept having the fear that she would put her face in the bumper again. I don't know if she would know to move her face if she was blocking her breathing. But I'm also not sure if it's safe to take out the bumper. What if her hand gets caught in the space between the bars? So when she cried at 2 am dh just took her into bed with us and I was able to sleep. I've never felt panicked like this before. So I called the dr. this am and asked for him to call me and let me know if I should take the bumper out or not. Parenting can be so stressful, huh!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Kristen

Kim - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
MichelleL - Happy Belated Anniversary - glad you had a nice day!
AFM: things here have been going okay. DH came home on Sat (YEAH!!), and he thinks he has a really good shot at getting offered the job in Texas. I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice for SOMETHING to work in our favor for a change!

Re: February Valentines!
Good Morning Ladies!
Oh my goodness what a weekend... but more on that later.
MichelleL- Happy Anniversary! Sorry I didnt get to get on here and wish you that on Saturday.
Kim - Happy Birthday! I hope your girls get to feeling better. I swear this has got to be the cold and flu season. Everyone is sick these days.
Kristen- I have the same monitor. The angelcare one. Ours has gone off a couple of times. Nate never stopped breathing but he would get himself in a position where the monitor didnt register. We had to put a board under the mattress and it helped a lot for the false alarms. We also took the bumper out. Try not to stress out. I have read false alarms are likely to happen and hey a false alarm is WAY better than a real one. No worries on the formula. Thanks again for sending it. I really appreciate it.
Shannon - I hope you get things worked out and you get to get your fish. I know nothing about fish and in fact I have a fish phobia (again I know I need help) but I do hope you get to set up your tank.
AFM - Well the weekend was crazy. We went to Ft Worth Friday night and had a blast with our friends. Nate and my mom did great overnigt and it was all good. The only thing was we were up until 4 AM and then had to sleep on the floor in a FREEZING room. So we got up at 7:30 and left an hour later. We were home by 9:45. Boy we have been paying for that all weekend. SO TIRED. Nate also started really teething. He has a tooth starting to break through on the bottom front left. So last night he went to bed at 8:30 and woke up at 1:30 I fed him and he went back to sleep. Then he woke up almost every hour and fussed a bit but fell back asleep with in a minute or 2. So he was just uncomfy. Poor kid. Hopefully These 2 teeth will break through soon and he will feel better. They are sharp little suckers. I cant wait for him to start biting.
I was also sick last night. Our weather here is crazy going from cold to hot in mere seconds and it makes my allergies act up and I got a wicked sinus headache. My left eye had swollen so much I could barely open it. Thankfully today its much better.
I guess that is about it for now. I should go and get to work. I will check in later.
Take Care Ladies!

Kim-Happy Birthday to you!Happy Birthday to you!Happy Birthday dear Kim, Happy Birthday to you!!!! I hope you have a fantastic day today! How's McKenna doing?
Amy- Poor Nate!As soon as those teeth break through the pain is gone, it's just getting them through that's so horrible...Luc is double fisting chewing. And drooling excesively but I see no change in his bottom gum area so no teeth yet for him.Sounds like you had fun this weekend other than the lack of sleep.
MichelleL- Good luck today with the catering!!! Send some yummy food my way!Let us know how it went when you get a chance!
Kristen-I wanted one of those monitors cause I read way too many sad stories but couldn't afford one.I too would rather have the false scares than a real one...Let me know what your doc says about the bumper cause we still have ours in...
Elise-I'll keep my fingers crossed that your DH gets the job!

Elise - It would be awesome if ya'll moved to Texas!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for a job offer for your DH!!!
Kim- Happy Birthday!!! I hope your girls are starting to feel better! I'd make you a birthday dinner if you lived closer!
Kristen - We are leaving the bumper in the bed for Brenden. I worry more about his arm or leg getting caught in the bars then him rolling into it. He moves stuff all the time so I am sure he would roll back, move over or scream to get something out of his face. Conflicting expert opinions just make it harder on us moms! I'm sure your Pedi will give you some good advice and make you feel better about whatever you decide.
Amy - It does sound like you had a crazy weekend! Hopefully you had a great time other than sleeping on the cold floor!
Shannon - I wish I could send ya' some food! LOL
AFM - Well, we are taking a break from the catering right now. We've actually been done since 9:30. All that's left is to broil the garlic bread and that will only take a few minutes. Of course the lasagna's are in the oven but we don't have to babysit them. DH took off work today and tomorrow so I can get back into the swing of things and then Brenden will be with me the rest of the week. I am hopeful as he has been really good this morning! It's funny because when I had my shop I fired one employee and hired my sister because the employee was slow and wanted to argue with me about everything, well, my sister is quick and we would always get done about an hour early so we could relax a little. I was worried this morning because we haven't done this in close to a year but it was like riding a bike.....I took the entrees and she took the salad. I cut the pineapples and she did the cantalope. She buttered the bread and I garlic'd & cheesed it. We never even said a word about who would do what....we just fell into your roles! Brenden slept well last night. No getting up and down. He crashed at 7pm and up at 1am and 5am to eat. I used to complain about the two wakings but after this horrible up 6 or 7 times a night stint I'll take getting up twice with no problem!! LOL Well, back to work I go. I just wanted to check in with my chick-a-dees! I hope ya'll have a good Monday!
