Shannon- I would faint if I ever went to your house!!! LOL, I seriously have a phobia of snakes, have to cover my eyes if I even see them on TV, and coming across them I have fainted before.

Re: February Valentines!
Kim-Yeah majority of our friends are afraid of snakes so we keep them in the basement. We tend to not even mention to most people that we have them.We have ALOT less animals than we used to.Right now we're down to 3 dogs, 1 cat,1 cockatiel, 5 guinea pigs(and one is preggo-we only have females so she came preggo to us) a 30 gallon fish tank with some oddball fish, a box turtle and about 22 snakes(19 ball pythons 2 corn snakes and 1 redtail boa). But we used to work at a pet store(I was the manager and he worked for me-hahaha!!!) so we had ALOT more at that point...I am trying to get DH to bring our big tanks upstairs to set up for fish again but he is being lazy and doesn't feel like it....

Re: February Valentines!
LOL we've had sugar gliders, hedgehogs, ferrets, chinchillas, degus, bearded dragons, tortoises, many different frogs, salamanders, salt water tanks, chameleons, turtles, 2 parrots, and various foster dogs, oh and 1 foster cat that had 4 kittens in our garage. So ladies if you ever have animal questions of any shape or form, I probably know the answer. Most of my family calls me when ever they have questions about their pets..
Re: February Valentines!
Shannon - My best friend had a bunch of snakes when we were teens. My mom is deathly afraid of them and so I never got to have one. She helped me get my fix. She raised what ended up being a 10ft Burmese Python and had to end up donating it to the local herpetology society because it got to big to keep. It could eat a baby so you cant keep them anymore.
Anywho my mom picked me up from her house one day and I walked out of her room wearing the snake and my mother had a meltdown like you have never seen. Wow! I was shocked. I knew she was afraid but I didnt know it was like that.
She had many others and I helped her take care of them like when they got sick and you had to force feed them etc. I think my friend was lucky because she was only bit once in about 15 years.
Just thought I would share.

Re: February Valentines!
Amy- I have an uncle thats the same way.I'm not a big fan of burmese pythons though..They can be a bit grumpy and I don't like grumpy animals that are that big lol.
Elise-My DH's snakes are well handled so even my kids can handle them...There are certain times a year that we dont let anyone handle them and thats right now because its breeding season so they are a bit nasty..I won't let DH get a snake bigger than a ball python though...I guess they dont really bother me...He used to keep them upstairs but no one would come over...LOL. Gee wonder why...I got sick of living like a hermit but didn't have the heart to make him get rid of them so they moved to the basement. They're really easy pets I suppose. They sit around and do nothing and poop like once a month...

Hey Ladies,
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Shannon- Better you than me. I'm not a fan of snakes, but my husband is worse. You want to see him scream like a girl and run, I'm sure that could happen by sticking a snake in his face!!
Well ladies my friend gave birth to a 9ln 6oz boy on Friday! Holy cow! The first thing I asked her was if she had a vagina left! But on a serious note he is so adorable and I've never seen a baby with so much hair! That was the extent of my weekend!
Hope everyone had a good one.

Shannon - Mother of God!! I'm with Kim and Elise on the snakes! CREEPY! I don't know what I would do if I saw your snakes.....probably have a stroke. LOL
AFM - We put the guest bed back in Brenden's room yesterday and he slept in his crib for the first time at night! Of course I slept up there with him.....damn DH for wanting a two story house....it really was pretty good! He went down at 7pm, dreamfeed at 10pm, up to eat and 3pm and then up for the day at 6am. The 6am is a little early for me but I think he knew something was going on. DH was up and even though he was downstairs he had the tv and lights on. Anyway, it was really not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. For a few nights DH and I are gonna split the nights. Last night was different since his test is today so he spent a huge chunk of the night in the bathroom. Anyway, I think I'm just gonna leave the bed up there in case he gets sick or something. His cute room is all re-arranged and not so cute anymore but it is definately functional. I think he slept much more comfortably in his bed.... I'm off to the shower then to the hospital. I'll talk to ya'll later. -Michelle
P.S. Kristen - that's one BIG baby! I hope your friend had a c-section!

Re: February Valentines!
Morning ladies,
Kim, I haven't given her much air b/c she still has very loose stool but I do soak her in warm water..she LOVES it!! Her hiney is looking really good.
I sure hope those pretty girls don't get sick.
Shannon, I love the catalogs too. I'm not sure how I started getting them but I'm glad I did. The rash cream, when she was in the NICU they made up a butt paste and they sent us home with alot of the adhesive powder to make it and it works great. It's a mix of Desitin & A&D and then the powder to make it stick.
Kristen, your picture is adorable.
Michelle, glad he likes his bed. Aubrey was like that too. I had her in that basinett and she was not comfy put her in the bed and she slept much better.
AFM: not much going on here it's house cleaning day and I'm on the computer. no, definitely gotta get busy, have a good day!

Re: February Valentines!
Hi Everyone,
Goodness I can hardly form a sentence this morning! Nate and I really didnt sleep last night. I think I got about 3 hours all night long. Poor baby cant sleep with such a stuffy nose. I have a feeling the daycare may call me today to come and pick him up. We have him a Johnson's vapor bath last night and rubbed baby rub on his chest and sprayed the saline up his nose and sucked it out (he hates that btw) and gave him some tylenol. After that he is good to sleep for about 1/2 hour until he cant breathe anymore. Then he is super restless and cries and needs to be held and have his nose sucked out some more to be comfy. He is also having a hard time eating because he cant breathe so he tries to eat until he chokes and then stops to breathe for a second and then screams because he cant eat fast enough. Good times. I cant wait for this crud to pass. Anyway I should get some work done. ZZZzzzzZZZZ

Re: February Valentines!
Diana - love the picture in your signature - looks like she enjoys her food!
Michelle - yeah for good sleep!! Neither of my boys liked the bassinet. We used to have a futon in ODS's room when he was a baby and I spent many a night on it.
AFM: Logan is doing really well with veggies. They hold him thru the night much better than the cereal. I started giving him cereal for breakfast this morning, and now he's napping in the pack-n-play (has been for almost 30-45 min). Maybe the breakfast will help him take a better nap!! He's sleeping pretty well, problem is I tend to fall asleep with him in the rocking chair when he wakes up to eat at like around 3am, so by the time I get him back to his bed, it's like 5/5:30, so he usually wakes up so I end up back in the chair with him until 6:30/7 - depending on if we fall back asleep or not. I'd send DH in, but Logan wants nothing to do with him in the middle of the night.
Last Thursday, DH got a real taste of my life - I had to work after he got home. He walked in the door about 5:30, and I was out by 5:45 and got home about 8:15. He comes downstairs about 8:30 and was "he was screaming for 4 hours he finally fell asleep" and I told him "i was only gone for about 2 1/2 hrs" and he said "really? only 2.5 hours?? i'm so glad you're home." he got a whole new appreciation for my day!! He had all 3 kids to deal with - getting them all dinner, ready for bed and into bed all the while having a baby that wouldn't be put down and was screaming. Then on Sunday, I had to stay at Sunday School with ODS for a program, so he was home alone with Logan and DD, and I was only gone for about 3.5 hours and when I got home he was "You're home!!" He was so done, that he wanted us all to go the grocery store so he didn't have to stay home with the 3 kids by himself! He cracks me up sometimes! LOL I told him "I'm sorry Logan was fussy, but I'm not because now you understand better what I have to deal with." And they all managed to survive! Men - they can be such whimps sometimes!

Re: February Valentines!
Elise, thanks, she does enjoy it. I didn't want to start her on fruits b/c supposedly it will make her not want veggies but we started with cereal & bananas to help with her tummy. I bought a sweet potato yesterday to try in a couple days.
Funny about DH...thank God for mom's!!
Amy, poor Nate. My Dr hates the blue bulb, told me I could throw it in the trash for all she cares but I use it. Last weekend when I had to call the exchange for Aubrey the pediatric nurses at Children's Hosp were taking the calls and they told me to use the drops and hold one side of her nose while sucking the other...I had never done that and she doesn't like it even more than usual but it did get alot more out.

Re: February Valentines!
Dr office just called and we've moved Aubrey's 4 month appt to Monday b/c they also want to do another urine check after her 10 days of meds. Which means poor lil girl will get her 4 shots, have to drink that rotavirus crap and then be cathetered but it also means that I'll be off so I can take her and be home with her aftwards instead of MIL.
They are also going to send her for a ultrasound to see if she has kidney reflux b/c babies shouldn't get UTI's.

Re: February Valentines!
Just stopping by to say that DH's test went well. There was one polyp found which was sent to the lab for cancer testing but the dr was confident it was non-cancerous. He has several internal hemmoroids which stinks but atleast it's nothing serious. When the dr came in and showed him the pics of his colon he nearly passed out....he turned green and his eyes rolled back in his head....I felt so sorry for him but at the same time wanted to crack up laughing. I am so glad this is over....

Re: February Valentines!
Great news MichelleL!!! Will keep my fingers back for the polyp to come back non-cancerous...Hemoroids are now fun though!!! I got my first one while preggo with Luc! Oh boy do they hurt!!
Diana- Poor Aubrey! Thats gonna be such a crappy day for her(and you). How's her diarrhea? Is it getting any better with the rice?
Elise- Yeah men think its tough for 2 hours and we do it 24 hours a day-even when we work...Glad that your kids and him all survived each other
.
AFM: I didn't sleep well AT all last night so I'm really sleepy today and of course its been an on the go kind of day. There was a take your parent day at ODS school so I went in early with him and we ate breakfast and then went to the bookfair. His teacher was absent today so I offered to go help the aide out for the afternoon.Brady was bored-he always wants to do something different than what the class is doing.Luc was very well behaved and even took a nap while we were there....Anyway, gotta go try and figure out what to make for dinner now and I don't wanna

Re: February Valentines!
Diana- Poor Aubrey!!! I hope things go well though...I understand the need for the cath, but isn't it kind of ironic that they are also the leading cause of UTI's...when they needed to collect urine from McKenna when she was a baby there was this bag that had adhesive and they washed her down and placed that on her...had me give her something to drink and we waited...it didn't take long for her to pee on her own.
Kristen- Congrats to your friend, what a big boy!
AFM- Yup...both girls got it, they are both so stuffy and congested...and it is all DH's fault! Poor McKenna couldn't get the phelgm up last night and actually got sick from trying, so humidifier going in and vick's baby rub on the soles of their feet...sigh.

Re: February Valentines!
well girls, it's not getting any better over here on the wellness front. I went to the minute clinic saturday and sunday my symptoms hit full force. luckily my mom came home JUST as i woke up(and incidentally, joey too) i was heating up a bottle and getting ready to feed him when i realized it was WAY hot. I took my temp and it was 101. my mom was a total angel and took joey for a couple of hours so that i could take some fever reducing meds and sleep off the fever. Well i have been laying in bed for the past two days. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband. He has been nothing short of a saint to me. Joey's cough is still pretty ugly, but he's being more like himself. DH went to store, so I am here with Joey for a bit, and he's being good thank god. anyways, i had typed out a whole bunch of stuff last night but DH closed out the window, so i don't remember what i wrote. So, no personals, although in my post yesterday(that i didn't get to finish), i actually DID write personals... anyways, i hope everybody is doing good. you ladies here in texas, brace yourselves cuz tomorrow's supposed to be kinda bad maybe. well ttyl girls!
Re: February Valentines!
Hey Ladies!
Diana- I love that pic. of Aubrey, she is too cute! Poor thing though, I hope she gets to feeling better soon!
Shannon- OUCH!
Kim- Sorry to hear the girls aren't feeling well. I love my cool mist humidifier, it's done wonders for Maddie!
Michelle- How everything turns out good with your husbands test.
Bekah- So sorry you and Joey haven't been feeling well. Hope you both get better soon!
Amy- I noticed in another thread you said Nate eats Nutramigen. My dr. gave me 3 samples in the powder form. I know how expensive this stuff is. If you're interested in it, I can send it to you. Just let me know! Maddie ended up not needing it and I'd hate for it to go to waste!
Afm- well, today is one of those days where I knew it wasn't going to be great from the get go. First I woke up late and didn't have half of the things I needed ready for the day ready. Then I had just made breakfast and Maddie woke up crying and was getting louder and louder so I shoveled my food down. I ran a half hour later. Dropped her off to my SIL and realized I left the keys in the house. Now I'm exhausted at work with a headache. Of course this is the one Tuesday we have a staff meeting and I have a chiro appt. I won't get home until 5:30ish. I'm exhausted thinking about the rest of the day! Anyways, hope you all are having a better day than me!!

Oh yeah, plus this weight loss challenge says to drink half of your body weight in water. So that's great- I'm freezing and have to drink about a truck load of water!!!
