Brag on your Baby!

Ok I decided to start this so we all have a place to brag about things our new LOs are doing. Things we are surprised that they are able to do already or things that make us laugh, cry, smile etc... So lets hear about your babies!


Mine for today - When I walk down the hall carrying Nate I always kiss him on his cheeks, forehead etc. Well yesterday I was walking down the hall with him kissing his cheeks and he lifted his head and made puckering motions on my cheek then lifted his head moved and kissed me on the mouth and then moved his head again and kissed me on the other cheek. Just like I do him! Kind of the open mouth kiss babies do but at the same time he was doing this crazy open close action with his mouth like kissing / puckering. Not bad for 12 days old - he made my day!

What does your LO do?

My little one opens his eyes and lifts his head when i call his name as i come into the room, it's like he lights up!

my LO likes it when I drag my hair across his face. He smiles and opens his mouth real wide. Then, he does this thing in his sleep where he'll smile real big and chuckle for a couple of seconds and then go back to being real quiet. His neck muscles are also pretty strong! He picks his head up for a couple of seconds and shakes it a little, then puts it back down. Also, for some odd reason, he calms down when I put on country music... who'da thunk?

I think Luc's biggest accomplishment to-date is that he sleeps pretty well at night.He goes down between 7-9 at night and will sleep until around 2am, he'll wake for a snack then go right back to sleep until around 7am...I love when he's crying(not that part) and I pick him up and he looks at me like I just saved the world.Feels pretty powerful!

Well I personally LOVE when Jeremiah smiles at me it makes me feel awesome. I agree with a Shannon in her last post I too love how just me as his mommy picking him up soothes him and seems to make everything wrong right for him. Its amazing how we as the mom have just the right touch to soothe our babies and they sense us when we are near. I also like when he is pretending to sleep and I talk to him his breathing changes in response to my voice. And just the other morning about 9 am he woke up and was crying so I figured he needed a feeding so I got the bottle all ready and tried feeding him but he just sat there looking at me and studying my face so I started talking to him and he starting smiling and just continued to study my face. He didn't want a feeding at all he just wanted to play. It's so hard to believe he is almost 3 weeks old. Why does the time go by so fast when they are little? I hate that part of it all.

Joy! I know what you mean about the going to feed him thing and then he just stares at you or falls right back asleep after you pick him up. Joseph will take about an ounce of food and then fall asleep! I don't wake him up because I know I wouldn't want to be woken up lol. But it IS strange that they knows our bodies and when we got to hold them, the whole world is right again. DF was holding him the other day while I was napping and I woke up to see what was wrong with Joey because he was screaming bloody murder. I looked at DF and was like, "Did you feed him?" He said, "Yeah I feed him twice in a couple of hours! He can't be hungry." I looked at Joey and said, "Here, let me hold him for a sec." And then he jsut stopped crying. Cory was so furious. He was like, "You spend all day with him and I just want to spend some time with him when I come home and then he wants YOU!" I felt really bad and made up some crap about babies just needing different faces to look at sometimes and how my body was shaped differently and held heat better. He totally ate it up. I'm glad too cuz I felt HORRIBLE.

Bekah - don't worry too much about it..once he gets older he'll probably go thru a daddy-phase...my ODS did that - as soon as DH would get home, he'd go running to him and didn't want anything to do with me. it bugged me a lot at first, but then i got used to it and figured out it was nice because then i got to do stuff i didn't get done during the day and DH got to deal with ODS! And when that happens, you can remind him of this and how upset he was that the baby calmed down for you better than him.

I got my first intentional smile at 2:30 this morning! I picked Lucas up and he looked at me and gave me this great big gummy grin! Oh I fell in love all over again!Poor DH he's been trying ever since then to get one and no such luck...I don't think the men quite realize that we spend almost our entire day with the babies and that's why they recognize us so well.Our smells, our voices and our shape are a huge comfort to them...I wish Luc was awake right now so I could just snuggle with him but he's sleeping and I don't want to wake him up...Off to shower and then run errands!Have a great weekend ladies!

My DH gets upset too. Nate will be fussy with him and he will hand him to me and with in 30 seconds he calms down and is content. All he does is say stuff like "Man, no Fair!" This is with him playing with him for an hour or so. I just tell him he was probably over stimulated and mommy's touch works wonders. That and I am with him all day so he is used to me calming him. I know the Daddy's boy phase will come and I will be heartbroken for a little bit. It will all be good.

Joseph started cooing all over the place today and smiled at me for the first time during a diaper change today. He was very sweet! He's been pretty good so far tonight, just a little fussy because of his tummy. But he actually smiled at me! I took some good pics of him during that diaper change. I think he's liking them better now. Maybe it's not so cold anymore or something. Anyways, just thought I'd share about Joey's massive cooing and smiles today. ^_^

I don't know if this is a brag but it's definately my favorite part! I luv it when I pick Brenden up and he just snuggles into my chest and immediately stops crying! I feel like I am saving the world....or atleast his!

Definetly the best part in the world Michelle!!! It makes me feel like Supermom!!

Bekah-I love the first coos!!! Luc hasn't gotten that far yet but he gets so excited and looks at me like he wants to tell me a story and moving his mouth(not in a hungry way!)so I imagine any day we too will have coos!!!
We do have the smiles going tho..I've gotten a few but DH hasn't yet.So he's bummed out about it...Especially since he's seen Luc look at me and grin...He'll get them his way soon enough!

Lucas just cooed for the first time!!!

I got my first smile from Nate yesterday. He woke up in the morning and I got him out of his bed and put him in our bed with me for some one on one time and I said good morning handsome and he gave me the biggest smile. My heart just melted.

Oh and it cracks me up that after he eats and I go to burp him he makes thes Argh Argh sounds like he is trying to fake me out with burping. LOL I know he's not its just funny. So I started making argh sounds back at him and we pretend like we are pirates.

I am going thru the whole ods wanting hubby and not me...Like for instance last thursday hubby went and got Elijah from school and lo and behold he was ALL smiles the whole ride home....I don't even get smiles *pout* then on Friday morning mind you I am the one who gets him up for school and such(even after Jeremiah getting me up every two hours) and he gives me an attitude to get outta bed then he pulls the whole " I want Dad to take me to school" thing... but his daddy wouldnt get outta bed to take him so I had to take him.. I have noticed that just recently... I am losing my first little man to the "Daddy"....

I'm with ya' Amy & Bekah!!! Brenden makes the growling noises too and they are so freakin' cute!!! I luv it when I go to put the bottle in his mouth and he opens really big and then shakes his head back and forth really fast while making the growling noise....like "feed me before I starve!" LOL

Lucas does the tongue thing too!!!I start talking to him and he smiles and starts with the tongue

Joey does the tongue thing too, but even after being fed. like maybe he wants his binkie? It's pretty cute. I've seen him with his tongue fully out of his mouth! lol I laugh at him. Well, Joseph is finally smiling at me when I smile big at him. Used to be he'd smile on his changing table just at the door lol, but now if I stand over him and smile REALLY big, he smiles and giggles back. Plus, he's already started grabbing at stuff! We keep mittens on him a lot cuz his hands get ICY cold and he pulls at his eyes and I'm afraid he's going to gauge himself in the eye one time. Although, I'm sure if he did that once, he'd NEVER do it again. He kicks his legs really well too. And he can hold his own head up for a few minutes on his own now. He's pretty good at that. Maybe he'll crawl soon? Not like.. within the next month or anything, but... sooner than usual? Who knows. I like to watch his progress!

P.S. Has anyone noticed their baby's are lengthy lookin? Joseph eats a lot but he's not like fat or anything cuz he looks REALLY long! He goes to the Doc on the 25th, so we'll find out his length then, but... he looks long! lol

Logan is getting better at holding his head up - he can keep it up for probably about 5 seconds now before he loses control. He is also smiling and cooing. If I have him in his crib, he'll "talk" to the animals on the bumper sometimes too...it's so cute!!
