Woo Hoo - It's October! - Page 12 Empty Re: Woo Hoo - It's October!

Post by Guest Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:01 am

I forget who was talking about baby poo but Jeremiah's poop is like a greenish color and is mixed with yellow also.. I mean it is not the tarry meconium type poop it is solid and is like tie dyed green and yellow. Um I didn't have stitches or nothing with Jeremiah or Faith but did with my first Elijah and some of your bleeding may be from your stitches healing up since it has only been a lil over a week. I do remember seeming like I bled alot with Elijah more so than Faith or Jeremiah and I think that was the culprit: the stitches... because they never technically get dry nor does the tear or cut(whichever you had) so they take a bit longer to heal. I know I think I just now stopped bleeding from having Jeremiah yesterday. I mean it let up significantly after the first week or so but was still there.. and even seemed like a few times was done but came back, but I think I am done with pads for awhile...btw how long after you stop post partum bleeding do you start regular period anyone know?

Also Jessi the soreness of your stitches and feelin like ur tearing em apart should let up within the next week or so. But I can tell you this when I went for 6 week check up and when dh and I DTD after me having my firstborn(the one I got stitches with) it kinda hurt a bit at my exam and dh and I proceeded with slowness.. even though stitches were gone and dissolved it felt to me like they were still there for there first few times.. I mean nothing horrendously painful or anything but a bit of soreness. Just figured I would give you the heads up anyways hth you..

Amy- not sure if your lo cord fell off yet but Jeremiah's when the outside stump fell off (at 11days old) I could still see inside the bellybutton like a whitish color thing I think it was another part of the umbilical cord in there and I just continued to alcohol swab for another day or two more to dry that part out. it oozed a bit of blood not bright colored blood more brownish here and there but all better now. I also noticed with Jeremiah toward the last few days before it fell off the stump kinda had an odor to it..shocked me at first because the other two didnt have that but all turned out well. and about the diaper issue Jeremiah had the same problem with soaking through alot and seeping out the sides onto back and etc I am using white cloud diapers because they were cheaper and we didnt have alot of cash to get diapers so I think partly that could be a culprit but I noticed it happened more before the stump fell off because I was folding the diaper down away from umbilical cord which made the diaper not fit as well. so all the soaking through may get better when he can wear the diaper up over bellybutton after the stump falls off.. I know next time around though I am getting Jeremiah's LUVS because they have leakguard guarantee and if they leak through I will save my receipt and the upc symbol and call them and complain about em and get me some diaper coupons(sometimes they even send you a coupon for a free package of diapers wooohooo those are always a good thing FREEBIES) anyways hope all that helps and sorry for such a long post

Jessi - it will feel different while you heal. I remember after ODS was born (my only vaginal birth), it was at least a couple of months before the pain was completely gone -- and i tore with him because he was a foreceps delivery.

AFM: I can't believe it, but Logan slept for 4 hours 2 nights in a row!!! I'm so excited!!! I hope this continues...and DD is sleeping better too - I think part of that is because I am doing better. We spent all day Saturday working on her going pee in the potty -- she managed to do it a couple of times so we've made some progress! And last night all her diapers "disappeared"...i got the goodnights for her at night and she'll either be in pull-ups or underwear...i am so done with her in diapers! she is literally too big for them and i'm tired of changing her....hopefully this will continue and she'll be at least day-time trained by thanksgiving! sooner would be nice, but i'm not pressing my luck! Smile

hope everyone else had a nice weekend....time to grab something to eat before Logan realizes he's in the pack n' play and wakes up! Very Happy

Elise- Good luck with the potty training! My first was difficult and then we changed babysitters and she said she'd help ou.So his first week he could wear diapers but his second week he had to use the potty. He was trained pretty well within a few days.Second DS was very easy...And since then he's only had 3 accidents and it's been over 2 years(he's 4 now).We gave m&m's as potty rewards and let them try to hit cheerios in the potty as incentives..may not work for a girl tho...LOL.Woohoo to Logan sleeping 4 hours for you!!

Jessi- I'd really call your doctor...Seriously the bleeding concerns me alot.Even the overnight pads are fairly thick.Your nether regions will be sore and tender for at least another week or so...I still had a touch of tenderness up until just about week 3.And that's when DH caught me after one of THOSE type of dreams where you wake up in the mood for some love.If you tore you may be tender for a bit longer, especially if there are stitches...But if you are showing signs of increased bleeding and you haven't been overdoing it then call your doctor, please.

Hey Ladies!
It's been a few days since I've posted. I've been reading, but no time to post, then my internet was down all weekend- so annoying!! I mean this is one of my only outs to the rest of the world right now. Until tonight when I finally ventured off to Walmart (would have rathered gone to Target Amy, but until they build the one by me it's a half hour drive. You're lucky it's so close to you!) on my own and then to Stop and Shop and three hours later returned home. It felt nice to have some time alone, although I did miss Maddie!

Madison is getting so big, she gained 13 oz in a week! Now she's at 8lbs 30z, but she is still a peanut only fitting into some newborn clothes. For the first two weeks she was in preemie outfits. I finally got her back into the bassinett the other night all night instead of holding her most of the night, but last night after 5:30 she wouldn't have it. She is still not sleeping great through the night, although daytime sleeping is great, LUCKY ME!

Eileen- I think you asked about bleeding. I had a c-section. It has been 4 weeks on Wed, and I have had my AF since the c-section, although it's not very heavy. I do find if I am very active for a while, it gets heavier.

Bekah- Sorry to hear you're having problems with your little guy not pooping. I'm a FTM and I'm with you although I feel overwhelmed sometimes and extremely exhausted, I feel I was meant to have a family and want more than 1 kid. I do get nervous as to how I could manage more than one all the time. Even though I am a teacher to 20 students, it's different! Sorry to hear about your grandma! My thoughts and prayers are with her and your family.

Michelle- Hope your poop troubles have gone away!

Heather- Happy Birthday! Cracker Barrel is one of my fav. places- yum!!
Anyways, dh went to bed and my mom is holding the baby, so I'm going to catch up on my celebrity gossip magazine and then take a nap. Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight!!

No personals this morning, sorry.Just asking for prayers for a friend's husband(even if you're not religious). My best friend of 23 years lives in Seguin,Texas.I visit her every few years..Well her DH is a jockey and races near San Antonio...On 10/16 during practice his horse tripped and went down and rolled over top of Salvador. His back is broken and his spinal cord was severed...He's undergone surgery in Dallas, but may never walk again. He is lucky to be alive. Please keep them in your thoughts.Unfortunately I can't afford to go down and see them right now...

Post by PolloLoco75 Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:43 am

Morning Ladies!

Yesterday was such a busy day... I didnt get a chance to post. We had Nate's 2 week pediatrician visit. He is doing good and is now up to 8 lbs 13.5 oz. So he has almost gaine a lb. I still dont really understand the percentile stuff but he is in the 50% for weight but the 15th percentile for height. I dont understand that. Does this mean he is short? The doctor said she was really happy with his numbers so I am not worried about it. I just wish I understood it a bit more.
After that we went to the grocery store. We did big time shopping. We were out of everything here. By the time we got home Nate was not happy and was ready to eat. Poor guy I felt so bad I kept him out of the house so long.
Today we are going to go and vote and then go up and visit the folks at my office. They have been begging me to bring Nate up to meet them. So I am going to take him and some Halloween cupcakes up there. Another big day!

Jessi - Did you check with the Dr or Nurse about your bleeding? What did they say? I am worried about you girl.

Joy - With Nate's cord falling off at the Dr yesterday she said that even though it fell off it wasnt completely healed. She had to go ahead and coderize it and now we have to wait to give him another bath . So as soon as the gray charred stuff falls off he is getting in that tub again. I cant wait. He slept so good the night he had a bath.

Michelle - I was wondering where you were. I am glad to hear that y'all are ok.

Heather - Happy Birthday!

Bekah - I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. My thoughts are with you! Oh and I had hot flashes in the hospital but not since coming home.

I guess I should get going. Nate is starting to fuss. I guess his bouncy chair animals arent that entertaining after all.

Take Care,

Christopher got looked at today he gained 7oz in 5 days! lol I know thats probably not a big deal but I'm happy he's at 5lbs 13oz thats 3 oz more then birth weight and i was worried we might not make it back to birth weight by his two week appointment Smile if he keeps this up he should be at 7lbs in no time!

Glad to know I ain't the only one having potty training issues with my daughter. Faith is still in diapers also and she will be 3 on Nov 8th. I desperately want her outta diapers but she is showing alot of resistance on purpose. Like one time I knew she was getting ready to #2 so I made her take diaper off and sit on the potty and tried convincing her to go. She sat there for at least an hour talking and messing around but no poop. We put a diaper on her because we didn't think she was gonna go and within 30 minutes she pooped her pants on purpose....I have a sticker chart going for her and tell her she will be able to wear princess undies if she becomes a big girl and uses potty and also she will be able to go to school like her big brother two things which I know she would like but no luck. I even tried a few times letting her wear big girl undies but she pees in them on purpose. hopefully though she will change her mind soon.

Joy - I feel your pain -- the light just went on for DD...she was bare-bottom and noticed the "water" (as she calls it) coming out and tonight, for the first time was able to stop the pee while she was in underwear and then finish in the potty. Baby steps, but I'll take them!!! Very Happy

AFM: today just is not a good day - don't know quite why, but i feel off...and DH having to go back to work tonight doesn't help...i'm just tired and in a blah mood.....i just want to crawl into bed and hide under the covers and not deal with anything or anyone for a week.....

Hey Ladies,
Shannon- Your friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Elise and Joy- I can totally relate although this is my first, I used to be a toddler teacher and had to help potty train little ones. Baby steps says it all, don't worry it will happen:)

Well, Maddie only woke up twice 4 am and 7am this morning, I was psyched. Dh kept waking me up because she made a noise and he wanted me to check her- the bassinett is next to me. I am praying she does this tonight as well, I was feeling so sleep deprived and dh can only do so much as I am still breastfeeding and haven't pumped yet. Other wise, Madison is a little fussy tonight, wanting to be held. I finally got my thank you cards almost done. It gets so stressful having all of these little things to do.

Well I'm going to clean up before her next feeding and then hit the sack, or try to. Have a good night everyone!

Payback happened last night...i knew we would pay for him having 3 decent nights in a row and last night was payback night...of course, i could deal with it a lot better if i knew that i was going to have 3 good nights then one bad, but something tells me life doesn't work like that!

Shannon - hope your friends are doing better....they are in my thoughts

time to get the kids ready for school and then i'm going to attempt getting laundry done today...waiting for DH to get it done isn't working -- there are too many other things that get in the way

Good morning friends -

Shannon - I'll keep your friends in my prayers!

Jessi - I had to hurry and do Brenden's birth announcements as soon as we got home from the hospital...I knew if I didn't then they'd never get done! I think the only reason I enjoyed doing them was we bought them from the hospital and they had Brenden's picture on them and all of the info already printed. LOL

Bekah - I hope things are okay with your Grandma! You are def in my thoughts!

Amy - It's definately harder to go anywhere with the LO's! We did some major grocery shopping Monday (DH took the day off). I changed and fed Brenden then we bolted out of the house knowing it was only a matter of time before he was hungry or pooped....amazing how life now revolves around a little bottle and POOP. Anyway, we were nearly finished..only had a few things left on the list...when Brenden's eyes shot wide open (he had been asleep the entire time) and he was screaming while eating his fists, the blankets and almost swollowed the BINK I put in his mouth. So there I sat on the bench at Super-Walmart feeding my child while hubby checked out. LOL

AFM - We aren't battling with poop issues at the moment...reflux is now the culprit. Brenden will be sleeping soundly and then he will kind of hiccup and start crying in pain...all while his eyes are still closed. Poor kid just can't get any restful sleep! :-( I called the DR yesterday and she switched his Zantac to Prevacid so hopefully that will do the trick. Honestly guys, I never realized how hard it is to take care of a perfectly healthy newborn. Dawson was so sick and my house looked like the ICU when he came home but he was on a strict 24 hour schedule so we almost always knew what to expect. This trying to figure everything out just plain sucks. We had finally gotten his evening routine half way going when the reflux issues started back up. Does anyone else feel like they are living in caos??

Elise & Joy - I've never potty trained a girl and I'm sure my weird method won't work for either of you but I just told Dawson as soon as he pee'd in the potty he could pee on a tree outside...worked like a charm! LOL It wasn't so pretty when I was trying to get him to poop on the potty though. He was 3 and outside swinging while I was cleaning the kitchen...the back door was open and I could see him. Appearantly I couldn't see him as well as I thought because all of a sudden he came running in the house babbling something about a wash cloth and soap...when I looked at his hands they were covered in poop! He had POOPED on that same tree I told him he could pee on *GROSS*!!

Ladies- I have an update on the bleeding issue we were all talking about. At my doctor appt my doctor said those of us that have had C-sections aren't or weren't even dialated or atleast not very much so the blood doesn't all come out like with a vaginal delivery it comes out in spurts or sectinos kind of. Soemtimes it will be a gush and a lot and sometimes it will be a little but blood up to 6 weeks on and off is fine she said because of this. HOwever you should never soak through a pad or have excessive bleeding as in hemoraging ofcourse.

Shannon- I will keeop your friends in my prayers how awful for them!

Bekah- I hjope your grandma will be okay I will be praying for her as well!

Jessi- I just did a massive e-mail no anouncments. I guess that is cheesy but I do everythign on lione even thankyous...lol

Elise and Joy- I feel your pain with potty trainning!!! My 2 tr old is fighting me tooth adn nail, sometimes he goes sometimes he doesn't. When he doesn't wantt ot go he can be danciong around having to go but won't and will yell no at me and not sit on teh damn potty. I swear he is going to be 5 and not potty trained!!!

AFM- think Daniel is constipated and or having bad gas. I tried the gripe water to no avail, and the gas medicine helpes but he still at ngiht has abotu an hour of fussing after his bottle and I think it is constipation he keeps ahving smears and balls of poop and bottle fed babies are more prone to constiaption anyways. That and he likes to be held I put him down and he cries and I am like come on Daniel!...lol gota make sure he is heavy asleep problem Is I keep falling asleep holding him becasue I am so tired!

Post by PolloLoco75 Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:51 am

Morning Loverly Ladies!

Joy- It wasnt painful at all. The Dr. took what looked like a long stick match that had chemicals on the end of it and just rubbed inside of Nate's belly button. It left a gray substance in there that she said would take care of it. Once the gray stuff comes off he is good to go. He didnt even notice it. She said it didnt hurt them at all.

Elise - I hope today is a better day for you. Good Luck with the potty training.

Kristen - I hear you. I just finished up my thank you cards on Sunday. Its such a weight off my shoulders. Oh and Nate last night only woke up at 4:30 and again at 7:45. That and DH took the 4:30 feeding. Its almost like I slept the whole night through. What a blessing that was.

Michelle - I hope you get the reflux under control soon. Poor little guy its so hard when you LO is in pain. All you want to do is fix it. Here is hoping prevacid does the trick. It worked for me while I was pregnant.

Elise - I was having the same tummy problems with Nate and the Dr said to change our formula to the isomil soy formula. It has made all of the difference in the world. He hasnt had any tummy trouble since. Oh but soy diaper blow outs are like no other. I couldnt believe the smell and the mess. However, its worth it. Whatever helps his tummy. Just know after one of those diapers you may have a whole load of laundry to do.

AFM - Just trucking along. We went and voted yesterday. Nate learned all about the voting process. Very educational. We went up to my work and said hi to everyone. Then after we got home my incision hurt so bad. I think I did too much in the last couple of days. Today we are being homebodys. I dont know that I will get out of my jammies. Maybe I will.... Other than that he must be going through a growth spurt because he is sleeping so much. That and eating almost 6 oz a feeding. That is CRAZY! He is only 3 weeks old (tomorrow). I think tomorrow we will start walking. I am going to have DH help me with the stroller tonight and tomorrow we can stroll once it warms up in the afternoon. I am excited. I would really like to start loosing a bit more weight. So I think movement is the key. I guess that is all for now. Nate is starting to fuss. He wants more food - again.
I will try to check in later.

Take CAre,

Amy- we actually are on the soy formul and it made a difference but then we tried the Enfamil AR formula and it is even better. more expensive ofcourse but it is working like a charm. Now if only I could get him to sleep at night...lol
