She will have an ultrasound of her kidneys..I'm a little concerned with that b/c DH has polycystic kidney disease but they looked at her kidneys everytime I had an u/s b/c of the history.
What they are really checking for is the 'plumbing' as our ped calls it between the kidneys and the bladder. If the lines are too big then the valve doesn't close, the urine backs up and causes infection, that is why alot of people outgrow it at a young age b/c as they grow the plumbing stretches and narrows.
I even met a woman since this has come about that her granddaughter had an entire extra line from one of her kidneys to the bladder so they just went in and removed it.
Also, it's hereditary and I found out that my niece (who's 31 now) had surgery when she was 4 b/c of these issues....so I'm fairly ok with it, just ready to get it diagnosed and taken care of.

MAN...I'm a chatty cathy today! I should be working especially since Aubrey is zonked.

Kim- That shift sounds completely horrible.....

Diana- Great news that the UTI is gone finally....here's hoping for even better news at the upcoming testing.

Jessi- AwwI hear ya about being tired of snow. I wanna get out and walk too. Although most all of the snow here is melted there is only a few spots left from where snow was piled super high and it just has taken it longer to melt away. So mostly it is the coldness stopping me here. But yay about getting the pants on sale at least you will be prepared for when the next nice day strikes...

AFM- Well took Faith to her dr appt today and mentioned about maybe sending her to a dermatologist and that's exactly what she did gave me a referral to a dermatologist. So I have that appt on monday the 16th. When I asked her what exactly she thought it was she said it looks like guttate psoriasis....but I looked online at pictures of what that looks like and the rash is different that she has so I guess I ll find out for sure on monday what it is. The good thing is that it is not contagious.

Post by ladydy Fri Mar 13, 2009 7:57 am

Good morning,

Jessica, I have the pants, I'm looking for the motivation. I have been TERRIBLE lately. Last weekend it was beautiful so DH and I made sure to get out and move both days but during the week I'm bad.

Joy, glad things are rolling with Faith, the dermatologist will get it all figured out.

We really want to take Aubrey to our downtown St Pat's parade tomorrow but the high is only supposed to be 52. I think that's just too cold to be out for any extended amount of time...do you ladies or am I just being paranoid AGAIN ??

AFM:I'm going today for a haircut..OMgosh I need it SO badly. I had to cancel my last appt a month ago b/c Aubrey was sick so it's been 2 months and it's out of control. DSD is getting ready to graduate cosmetology school in a couple weeks so she's giving me a new do today...SCARY!
have a good day ladies...

Joy- I am sure the derm will figure it out...that is how I got my mystery rash diagnosed. Is it bothering her at all?

Diana- How long is the parade? a high of 52 around here would have everyone out and about. They are calling for a high of 50 tomorrow...and if I didn't have a function to go to I would so be at the aquarium with both kids (most of it is outdoor displays). My ped always told me the key for dressing the babies is one extra layer than what we would need...so if for you a long sleeve shirt and a jacket would sufice for that temp, I think she would be fine bundled just a tad bit more. Yay for haircuts...it is always nice when you feel a little better about yourself.

AFM- today is the last day of my work rotation for this week...now I will be off until Tuesday. Tomorrow I am going to a cancer gala benefit with my BF who is a survivor. We plan on having a good time so I am sleeping at her house, Sunday we are going to start going through the girls room and taking out the stuff that won't be going back in when we redo it in a couple of weeks, then dinner at my mom's for the traditional corned beef and cabbage(yummy)!!!! Monday I am going to help my other BFF finish her baby registry, she is due in July with her first ( a little girl they are naming Emily Grace) and do lunch, my mom is going to watch my girls so it will really be a nice time.

March Lions and Lambs - Page 5 Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by Kristen Fri Mar 13, 2009 9:08 am

Hey Ladies!
Diana- Glad the utis are gone. Hope everything else turns out fine! I'm with Kim. 50's around here is like hitting the jack pot. I bet if you bundle her a little more, she'd be good. I find that I always bundle Maddie way too much when she's in her car seat and she seems to love when we step outside and she's bundled.

Kim- Man that is a long day- 16 hours. Although 3 days off in a row every week must be great!

Joy- Glad they're sending dd to a derm. Hope the rash goes away.

Sorry if I forgot anyone!
This week has been hectic! I think Maddie is really starting to teeth. Since Monday she has been eating less and less each day. Yesterday until 4 pm she had eaten 5 0z of formula and 1/2 her breakfast and 1/2 her lunch which is SO not like her!! Plus she didn't have many wet diapers. So she's off to the dr. He may say there's nothing I can do to help her besides tylenol and keep trying to feed her. But I want to make sure she's not getting dehydrated or losing weight. My mom has to bring her though because I used all of my sick time for maternity leave. I hate not being able to go but I wouldn't get paid for the day if I took it off and that is worse! Plus I'm so tired!! Dh severly sprained his wrist so he can only do so much and work is kicking my butt! Report cards are due next Thurs. so I am trying to complete them for 18 students and keep things up at work. I'm so looking forward to April vacation- in 4 weeks.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh 52 will have them coming out of the woodwork here too. Last weekend we had 70's & 80's but all week it's been back to 30's.

I just wasn't sure about her being in it for hours.
But she would much rather be cool than warm, when she's warm, she's crabby. she has a lot to get use to this summer.

Kim, sounds like you're going to have a fun weekend...enjoy!

Kristen, I bet you are ready for spring break.

Post by Kim Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:10 am

Oh and I forgot to tell you...especially you Kristen, so we had to take Landree's bumper out as she is a snuggler, she likes to have something next to her face when she sleeps(just like her daddy) well everynight she was creeping up next to the bumper to sleep with her face in it...it was scaring me as I am not so much afraid of her not being able to turn her head but some how getting tangled in the bumper and then not being able to turn her head to breathe....anyway, bumper is out, but this morning I went in to get her and I found her with her head facing the opposite direction, so she was upside down...and both her legs hanging out of the crib through the slots. She didn't care, she was having a grand old time kicking her legs. I am going to babies r us on Monday...I think I will look into the breathable bumper....Kristen do they seem to fit tighter to the crib than the tradional ones?

Hi Everyone! TGIF! I have never been more serious about that one!
In fact if Tylenol Cold Multisymptom Sevear doesnt react badly with alcohol I am having some wine tonight! Either that or I will stop taking my meds at 4 that way at 8 I will be set for wine time!

Kim - Nate does the same thing. He turns in his sleep and we find him all different directions. He wears a sleep sack and we still find him with his legs going between the slats because we dont have a bumper in. I hate it! I am going to have to get a breatheable bumper too I think.

Diana - I am so glad the UTI is gone! The St Pats day parade sounds like fun. We might have considered going if we were a healthy crew at my house. 50s should be ok with pants / long sleeves / jacket / hat. I would think she should be fine if you wanted to go.

Kristen - Nate just went through that and his appetite is finally comming back. His 2 bottom teeth are coming in like champs. So hopefully that is all it is.

Joy - The dermatologist should be able to tell you whats going on. Hopefully its easilly treatable.

Shannon: I cant remember what was posted now so Hey Girl! I hope everyone in your house is feeling better.

AFM: Well this week has been a whrilwind. My mind feels like its going to melt at any second. That and getting the virus of the month in the same week has totally sucked. No taking off work for me even though I should have. My DH has insisted that this weekend I rest. I just might take him up on that. Nate has been very sweet. Its like he knows I am sick and he has been so caring. He rubbs my back and my face like its ok mommy I am here. He does make me feel better. Other than that not much is new.
I guess I should get back to work before it all caves in on me and they have to send in the search and rescue squad.

Take Care!

Post by Kristen Fri Mar 13, 2009 12:15 pm

Kim- I sleep so much better now that I know she can't smother in that damn bumper! There are all different colors at BRU. I think they're like $28. The only thing is they are made for cribs that go down in the front. My crib doesn't go down. So there are two spots where there is the hole still. It doesn't look bad and I chose the two corners where she would be least likely to end up getting her arms or feet through. But I love the bumper. I got the brown one and it looks good on my crib.

Amy- It def. isn't fun! The dr. said she has a mix of teething and a cold. She is congested and he said the post nasal drip is giving her a queasy stomach. He said he wasn't worried because she gained almost 2 full pounds since her last visit! He said in a few days she should be back to eating more regular. I hope it's soon, it makes me so nervous!!

OMG! I feel like I've been gone forever! I didn't read up on EVERYTHING, but just tried to graze over and fit in where I can get it.

It all started with my mom visiting, then SO wanted to write a business plan so that's been time consuming, kids have been snuffy and a little sick (nothing major) and my job is falling apart.. so in a nutshell that's where I have been. I'm going to do my best a catching up .. I'm missed you al!!

March Lions and Lambs - Page 5 Empty Re: March Lions and Lambs

Post by mnelson80 Fri Mar 13, 2009 3:23 pm

I know! I feel so out of touch. It's a shame really..LOL

Well thankfully, things at home are getting a little better. In fact right now it's MUCH better. But I'm still not totally convinced. I have this lurking feeling that the best behaivor is on because our lease is coming up in about 2 months. However I have seen a major shift in some of his attitued and although it's hard to impliment we have actually be agreeing on parenting issues! Amazing.. I know.LOL He been home all the time and we are working on communicating better. We've agreed that neither one of us wants to start over on the relationship front so we need to find a way to make things right.

So the business plan come in. SO has a fairly extensive cooking background and has always wanted his own restaurant. It scares the crap out of me in this market, but it has helped up work together and feel like we are getting somewhere in life to get it started. We currently do small catering jobs but want to move into the bigger and better. Especially as MichelleL would tell you, what we do is actually illegal in TX. Surprised(

As for the job, well that's actually a very long story. It starts about 2 years ago when my current company merged with another company of our same brand and became one. Well with all this real estate hub bub going on LandAmerica, our parent company made some bad financial choices and went bankrupt at the end of last year. This is a fortune 500 company we are talking about.. 1,000's of workers. So anyway in December we were purchased by Fidelity National Financial and it's been a very rocky road ever since. People are getting laid off, not only because of the economy and being in the real estate business, but because of the new management. They even laid of our President, who was my boss from our orignal company. (If that makes sense) So now we have this new jackoff as our president and he is absolutely running people out of here. People are scared of their management tatics and just don't like him in general.

I work in the marketing department so we don't really have any revenue tied to us, making us VERY vulnerable when it comes to lay offs. And with our sales team dwindling it's looking more and more scary. My current supervisor has been promoted and really really wants me to stay..even giving me $500 of out of his pocket to make me know I'm wanted here. But I haven't cashed it yet because my old President is at a new company and wants me to come over there. Ugh.. I really don't know what to do. So I'm just kind of waiting. I would pretty much be my own boss at the other place and would probably get into an office much closer to home. I'm still deciding..

Of course if SO opens the restaurant he wants me to quit my job and work with him.

Hopefully some of that lenghty discription makes some sense... what do you ladies think? I'm pretty sure it would be the same pay, but the new place isn't nearly as established, but it's not a part of a corporation so they have more room in making choices.

Kim- I saw on one of the threads about Landree sticking her feet out of the crib.. Dominic was doing that too, so I actually put his bummber IN the crib. He too also likes to have something up by his face when he sleeps so I was a little worried, but it seems to be ok so far.

Ok.. I have to go read again so I can respond to everyone else too..

Post by mythreesons Fri Mar 13, 2009 4:05 pm

Amy- Ha ha ha...When I read what you wrote to me about not remembering what I posted I had to think and realized that its because I haven't posted in awhile! LOL Yup I've been slacking...Been a crappy week I guess. DS#2 was sick on Tuesday and then today he looked a bit pale picking up ODS at school and I asked if he was ok and he said yes I asked if his belly hurt again and he said no I asked what was wrong and he said nothing..Then puked all over the steps in front of the school...He's actin totally fine now and downed a happy meal like it was going out of style(had picked it up before picking up ODS).So maybe he just felt car sick? Hope your starting to feel better...

Bekah- Hey tag your it!!!

AFM- Yeah so yesterday was my 6th anniversary.DH got me a card but didn't give it to me until today.Frankly yesterday just sucked. I'm so seriously irritated that I don't want to even mention more about it...Grrrrr... Evil or Very Mad Anyway the countdown begins for my birthday... The big 3-0 geez...Anyone have a hard time with that besides me? So much happened in my twenties. I had 3 kids, one miscarriage, got married, bought a house, almost had a divorce...How am I supposed to top that?

Have a great weekened ladies! Will catch up on personals later...

Hey all! Man....there are a lot of posts! YEA!!!! I'm so sorry but I do not have time for personals....Brenden is seriously sick. I took him to the pedi today. Yesterday he just was not acting like himself. He was really quiet and didn't care much about anything. He also has been vomitting his formula....to the point I have to change his clothes and mine! Anyway, he also developed a rash on his neck and that was just the final straw for me. Anyway, he has a touch of pnemonia and is on albuterol breathing treatments every 4-6 hours for 5 days. And the rash is totally unrelated....it's a yeast infection...yep....on his neck. It has been a crazy past few days. I knew something was seriously wrong last night when he wouldn't let us lay him in bed. He was up and down all night even with the head elevated and his pillow under the sheet for reflux. He has been trooper...I'm so proud of him. He also likes the breathing treatments...he licks at the smoke LOL! Once again I am so sorry I just can't do the personals...I got 2 hours of sleep last night and I'm headed to bed in a few short minutes. I hope you ladies have a fabulous weekend. It's cold and rainy here. It actually dropped 40 degrees (from 85 to 46) in only a few hours day before yesterday. I'm sure that's what sent my little guy over the edge.

Post by Guest Sat Mar 14, 2009 2:15 am

Diana- Yeah for Haircuts!!!I needed one recently but I got impatient and decided to cut it myself in front of the mirror one night right before I took a shower....Thankfully everyone else was sleeping so it turned out great all except for a few missed strands that were uneven from the rest..Did alright considering I had never cut it before by myself let alone in front of the mirror that can be tricky..50 degrees doesnt seem too bad really as long as it is a nice 50 no rain no windy conditions she should be alright bundled up and if you are still worried take an extra blankie for just in case..

Kim- Sometimes the rash seems to bother her but most of the time she does not complain of anything...I hope the derm can figure it out quick and that its nothing serious or hard to treat..Glad to hear your rotation is over for this week..I bet you are happy as well... Sounds like you have an equally busy weekend ahead...hope you have fun and are able to enjoy yourself this weekend.
Kristen- Wow you are busy!!Hope it is only a teething thing with Maddie and that it does not last long.....

Michelle- WoooHoooo! Glad you are back.. was beginning to wonder how everything was going with you. I know though when life gets busy its harder to keep up with everything..I hope the kiddos get better soon....Glad to hear everything is going well thus far with you and SO I too hope he is being genuine in his changing and that it is not just because the lease end is coming up.....You don't need no more on your plate right now..I ll keep you guys in prayer for that... I just want to add that I love the new avatar pic of Dominic he is getting so big!!!!

MichelleL-Aww poor Brendan...and poor you also...I hope the meds clear this up real quick and he gets back to his old cheerful self that way you can get back to somewhat normal sleep....

Shannon-Sorry your anniv. was not as good and it should have been...here's hoping your birthday is awesome and makes up for the difference...I don't know much about 30 yet but I am not anticipating turning 26 in July....10 years went by so much in fast forward its not even funny

AFM- I think Jeremiah is teething something fierce...he has been a bit more crabby and is back to being up till 4 am again... and his two bottom teeth are like right there...I am sure within the next week I will be telling you ladies that one or both have popped through the surface as they both are like right under the skin visible... and you can feel them....

Diana- how did the VCUG go? Any results yet? I forgot to mention that the course of treatment for me and my son is a low dose antibiotic on a regular basis to prevent infections.

Elise- New England’s weather sounds a lot like Texas…lol wait 5 minutes and it will pass…lol

Kim glad the CPAP will help hopefully! Will pray for the fluid to be gone! How are you redoing the girls room? Tell us all about the décor and stuff.

Amy-sorry you have to pick up all the slack from people being laid off. That would suck to get laid off and then have to train someone on your job. I would be upset.

Joy-Hope Jeremiah starts going to bed earlier for you, you need sleep too! Sorry to hear the teething is going so strong

Kristen-sorry you had such a bad morning but that is cool you didn’t egt a ticket. I got a ticket in my sheriff’s uniform one time very embarrassing I was on my way home and got pulled over got a lecture about speeding in uniform. I was so mad…lol

Shannon-hope all the puke goes away for you! You need to quarantine your house and get rid of the sickness once3 and for all you deserve a sick free house!...lol The big 30 isn’t that bad girl my hubby just turned 30, I am turning 29 in may and starting to freak out over the 30 thing…lol Sorry to hear your anniversary went to poorly

Jessi- more power to ya I could not handle snow, I like to visit it for a day and then I am done…lol

Michelle N missed you girl! Sorry to hear things have been so difficult!

Michelle L sorry to hear Brenden is so sick

Hope I didn't miss anyone! Me I am working so will get on later adn write more

Oh Michelle- poor Brendan, his belly was probably upset from all the mucous. I hope he is feeling better too. It really was a harsh winter for this crud.

Shannon- turning 30 wasn't all that bad...I was a little freaked, but then realized, hey I am a mom, my nights of up late being out we already over so I wasn't missing much from my 20's.

Eileen- it is going to be pink and yellow with bedding in those colors plus some white and dragonflies. We are going to stencil some dargonflies on the wall and their names...I will be sure to post pictures when he is done.

AFM- I am going out tonight and so excited!!!!

Eileen, good to hear from you. The VCUG is Monday morning. If she is in need of treatment I'm hoping for a lose does of meds only.

Joy, I've cut my own hair many times, once in particular was REALLY bad, butchered to the point I had to go get it fixed but I would still do it if necessary.

MichelleL, sorry to hear Brenden is so sick, here's to a speedy recovery and ODS not getting sick.

Shannon, 30 is just another day, you've done so much in your 20's it can only get better. Happy belated anniv. sorry it wasn't the best.

Michelle80, glad to see you back. The job thing is scary but if your company is laying off too then the other company not being as established may not be that big of a deal. Being happy means so much.
Good luck with the business venture, that's exciting!

Amy, take DH up on that rest and enjoy.

Kim, have fun tonight.

hey to Kristen, Elise & Bekah (haven't heard from her in a while) and anyone else I missed.

AFM: Got my haircut yesterday, it's a cute cut, she did a great job. Now I go this coming Friday to my normal woman to color it. I just haven't given into DSD doing the color yet, thankfully she gets bored doing color anyway.
We decided against the parade b/c it was only 38 out when we needed to leave, I'm a paranoid freak.
So tonight we're having sisters & BIL's over for corned beef & cabbage.

Kim- Have fun on your night out...

Diana- Yeah my dh pointed out how it looks kinda bad when I have it down because it is not completely even so I may just ask this woman from church about a cut. I have heard she does them quite well considering she has never went to schooling for it. I don't blame you for not taking Aubrey out...38 degrees is really not that warm at all...even if bundled up its still cold...

AFM- Well I just wanna report that the top sharp edge of Jeremiah's tooth on the left bottom middle has popped through the skins surface... It was not like that earlier this afternoon as I check every morning...I just happened to think to check when DH was changing his diaper at about 12 30 midnight and there the sharp edge was poking through...I am so excited!!!! Kim- Hope you had a great time last night! :-)

Diana- I need to get my hair cut. I really like the style I've been wearing...my BFF made me get it cut when she came after Brenden was born....she said I looked horrible, which I did so I always wore it up. Anyway, it's easy to fix but I have to get it trimmed about once a month to keep the shape. I'm glad you like your cut! You'll have to post a pic!

Joy - Congrats to Jeremiah on the appearance of his first tooth!

AFM - Sorry if I missed someone...I'm sure I did but I'm in a time crunch. DH has to go to work this afternoon and I have to get to the grocery before he heads out. Dawson woke with a sore throat this morning. Hopefully we can get rid of it before it starts....poor kid has his first group sleep over tomorrow night at a friends house he doesn't get to see much. Brenden is doing well. He was up a lot last night but just talking to himself so I didn't get him out of bed. At one point he was laughing and yelling happily and just stopped in a split second. So I jumped up to look at him and he was out cold with his mouth still wide open! I've been sleeping in the bed we put in his room....it's okay...but I want the comfort of my King size ultra plush mattress! Anyway, he still hasn't ran a temp and the gunk is minimal which is so strange to me! Here's to a good Sunday for everyone! -Michelle

Joy, congrats on the tooth!

Michelle, that cracked me up that he was out cold. They are just so entertaining.
Last night we had company and Aubrey would not go to sleep, she took a power nap and then was up gabbing and smiling. When they left I put her in her bed and she was still all smiles I think before I got to the light switch she was out cold.
I sure hope you catch Dawson's sickness quickly so he doesn't have to miss his party.

If I can figure out how to style my new do I'll post a picture. I went to Sally's and bought this mouse wax, OMG, I used it yesterday and had to re-wash my hair, it was like this goo that I could not get to dry. I thought I used just a little but I guess it was too much.

Well, I'm rambling b/c DH is gone and Aubrey is napping but I need to make my app for dinner tonight at BIL's and then we have to run to the store.
Have a great Sunday ladies, it's already 50 here, can't wait to get out in it.
