Heather
I don’t know if this is crazy but umh.. some of the girls in my Bradley class where having a hard time with pain and one of the guys was a chiropractor (husbands) he suggested she go see a special chiropractor that adjusts pregnant women..
Apparently being in proper adjustment can do more than relieve pain it can help your delivery go smoother and faster and so on.

I don’t know if that’s an option for you but I thought I would throw it out there

Eileen
Ooh ouch.. >,<
The worst I’ve had it is I cant actually get up to the kitchen table anymore (we have one of those tall table with barstool chairs) and it just hits the huge part of my tummy.. I cant tuck it under or over so I just have to sit a foot away and try to use the force to get to my food..

I keep having this odd tightening of my stomach today.. its not like contractions that I’ve had before its just kind of like pressure.. light pressure then it goes away.. comes back and so on..
Also twice now ill sit down to pee and feel this kind of pop it doesn’t hurt so much as it confuses me.. its like did something just fall out of my body? Is there a foot or something hanging out? What’s going on?..
Anyone know what it could be? I thought it was my mucus plug falling out or something but nothings there..

Interesting Jessi, I couldn't really tell you. I know I have had a lot of pressure and realy ache on and off in my lower tummy and sides of my tummy today, Gone to the bathroom a lot (TMI sorry) I know when I was in labor I felt like I had to seriously go to the bathroom for a long time...maybe braxton hicks... never had those before. maybe gas, seems like any little thing would feel like alot becuase evrything is so compacted in there But it comes and goes, and I have never gone into labor even though I am having so much pressure normaly today seems worse but I am positive it is nothing. Jessi I would say watch it and see if it gets stronger, or if it gets lighter with laying down or moving around changing position.

Heather - if you are 37 weeks at the date of your c-section, your baby should be fine. I was induced at 37 weeks and 6 days. My little joseph is perfectly fine! Unless you have serious health problems that run in your family, I'd pretty much tell my doctor no thanks on the needle. Honestly, most babies are fine, even if they are born a few weeks early. i also believe 37 or 38 weeks is considered full term (if I read my BBC week by week pregnancy thingy right). But, if you REALLY feel like you need the amnio, go for it. If not, it's YOUR body and YOUR baby, don't let your doctor do anything you don't want them to do! remember, hun, you have rights, exercise them if you must!

AFM - Little joseph is such a wonderful angel. He only really wails when we are changing his diaper, if he's incredibly hungry, or if he's trying to get out a #2. I am a little worried tho, he hasn't had a BM since yesterday at noon. I finally got my breast milk in and started pumping it(cant get him to latch for the life of me), and fed him some yesterday. Maybe the breast milk will soften up his stools. But we still have wet diapers for sure! I'm getting to be a pro at changing him! DF is getting AWESOME at swaddling, and i'm totally proud of that. Other than that, not much really going on. i'm healing pretty well from the birth. My tear hurts a good deal, but i have a numbing spray that the DR. gave me at the hospital, so it doesn't hurt too much. This may be TMI, but I FINALLY had a BM after 6 days. I think my hemorrhoids are going away and I may be more functional soon! I'm still a little tired, especially after I take my pain meds (which i ran out of today Sad ) and when i use the pump. Well anyways, I hope you ladies are doing well and I want to hear about more babies being born! So far I think its Eve, Me, Elise, and Shannon(respectively). I want to hear progress ladies!

... you know who i haven't seen on in a bit? AMY?! I wonder if she had her little one?!!!! *crosses fingers* Good luck girls and i will be on again as soon as I can!!! ^_^

That's why I think my Dr. is nuts lol - I will be 37 weeks and 3 days if I want to move the c-section date up - if I wait I will be 39 weeks 1 day. I took 2 Lortabs and they have done nothing except make me itch all over. Its past midnight...

Joseph is adorable!!! Reading about your TMI-BM issue..they wouldn't let me leave the hospital last time until I pooped! The nurse finally had to give me an enema thing! It was sooo embarassing! They also made me take Colace for like a week after. I think the pain meds really constipate you..
Can you have a lactation consultant come by and help Joseph get latched on?

Anyone else sleepless tonight?

Hey Heather,

Sleepless, YES, it's 3:30am. I fell asleep on the couch and then tried to go to bed and laid there for an hour awake...so I'm up writing in my baby book and putting things up in the nursery.
As for an amnio, those scare me, they talked to me about them more than once b/c of my age and I just wasn't willing to take the risk...it's probably not as high now that your LO is full grown.
We were told 38-42 weeks is full-term and the Dr even said that they breathe a sign of relief even after 34 weeks.
You have to do what you feel is best for you and LO...good luck!

Bekah, Glad to hear things are going well now that Joseph is home and settled. He's SO cute!!

Happy Monday Ladies, I'm having new satellite, internet, phone service put in this morning so it will have me off most of the day today. I should be able to check back in this afternoon.

It must have been a night for not sleeping last night...I was awake from 3:45 to 5:30...and then DD got up at 6:45, I am so dragging ass today. I have my last NST this morning...thank goodness.

Bekah- I replied on your other thread, but that is not uncommon at all for your LO to go several days in between BM's...and I agree with Heather about seeing a Lac. consultant to help with the latching. If you are still really sore down there, I suggest taking a stool softner daily to help you...I think I went that long without a real good BM, after my c-section last time, I had a small small small one at the hospital, and the only thing that helped was a senacot with stool softner, I think almost everyone of us comes home constipated, for those of us with tears and c-sections, the pain meds do it...plus you are really sore down there, it hurts to poop.

Morning Ladies!

I am here - still preggo and uncomfy! Razz Its so hard for me to get on here on the weekends. We have been so busy we dont even get a chance to turn the computer on most days. This weekend was another one. Friday night we went out to dinner and it was so good. That will be our last fancy dinner for a while. We did have such a great time. Then Saturday I had a hair appointment which instead of the normal 2 hours it took 4 for some reason. My stylist over booked herself or something. I was so frustrated by the time i got out of there. Then we worked on getting everything sepereated and in the car to take to goodwill. Then Sunday we had the last weekly lunch w/ FIL (YEAH!) and then had to do a Target shopping trip, all the laundry, plus finishing up our guest room and hanging the pictures up in the baby's room and DH worked on cleaning out our office. This while I was working on organizing our closets. You would think a time would come where everything would be done - but NO I just keep finding more stuff.

Heather - I would say a big ol NO to the Amnio. #1 I dont think I would ever have one unless it was like a life or death situation. #2 Its too freaking late for that I just dont know that I could trust it being done when the baby is so big. I hope you feel better and your LO arrives soon so you arent in pain anymore.

Bekah! - I am so glad you are home and momma and baby are doing well. Joseph is adorable! I am so glad you all are doing well. We will have to have a play date once Nate is here and our LOs are able to play!

Eileen - UGH! I am sure that hurt. If I lean against a counter or the washing machine it hurts so I can only imagine a LO jumping on your tummy. Its good that he didnt mean to hurt you, but OUCH. I hope you are feeling better today.

I think I am having an opposite sleeping effect than the rest of you ladies. I cant seem to wake up. I could fall asleep at any second of the day with no problems. My hips are also getting worse. This morning when I got off the couch to go and take my shower every step I took cracked in my hip. My arms and hands keep falling alseep when I drive. I know its carpel tunnel and I am wearing my wrist brace on the really bad arm but it still falls asleep with the brace on. I am ready to have this baby and get back to normal!

Well, I guess I am off to check the other board and get some work done. I will try and check back later today.

Take Care!

Hi Ladies,
Sorry no time for personals again. Will try to do them later. I am not really feeling that well today. I'm exhausted, and I keep getting pains in my stomach which turn out to be gas- sorry tmi. I'm just uncomfortable. It'll be two weeks tomorrow since I lost my mucus plug, go figure I'm one of the few it takes this long to go into labor. I go to the dr. this afternoon, hopefully she'll have some good news.

Hope you are all having a better day than me!

So - Ok so the family of the guy in my office who had the baby the day Hurricaine Ike came through is here. It is so defeating (in a way) that his wife is totally skinny now and you cant even tell that she was pregnant. Besides the fact that she has a 3 week old baby in a car seat with her. Totally cute baby by the way! Yeah, its not fair because it is going to take me forever to look pre pregnancy!

Just my small jealous vent!

Amy-LOL at your jealous vent...I got lucky, I will be smaller after I deliver than I was pre-preg.

Kristen- Let us know how your apt goes.

So I had my last NST this morning, all was good, now nothing to do until Thursday...well baby wise at least, the nurse did tell me she wanted me to just rest and do as little as possible these next few days...I laughed at her as I have a two year old.

Kim try though to get some rest. Amy I feel your pain, my close friend came back to work skinnier than before pregnancy. Me I gained 55 pounds so far as of today, and with my last baby he was 9 1/2 pounds and I came home from the hospital weighing only 7 pounds lighter so go figure. although once I have the baby and am cleared for exercise I have a step work out bench adn 5 dvd's so 'I wil be oding that every day plus my husband wants me to run with him in the mornings so I will be working up to that plus I will keep taking my prenatal vitamines for a while and eating only 1000 calories a day so hopefully I can lose a lot of weight. I want to lose 150 pounds, since I am 307 right now ideally 50 pounds a year for three years, more if possible but tht is my goal. I met wiht a nutritionist, and a personal trainer and got some exercises and stuff so now just waitting on the baby and the ok to start working out.

Kristen, GL at your appt.

Kim, glad to hear your last NST went well...3 more days!! lucky dawg

Amy, I could fall asleep during the day it's when I get all comfy and curl up in bed with my body pillow, I either lay there awake or I sleep for 2 hrs and then I'm wide awake. frustrating....

Eileen, It sounds like you have a great plan. Good Luck...
I was doing so well up until week 34 then the water weight just poured on so I was only up 17 #'s and it went to 28 so far. I know it's not food b/c I can't eat much w/o feeling miserable. I sure hope I lose a decent amount quickly.

AFM: WE'RE FINALLY WIRELESS!!! It's so nice.
I have a Dr appt tomorrow, hopefully I've made some kind of progress.

Diana - I feel ya on the water weight.. I had done pretty well too.. I think I was only up about 22lbs ( I'm not sure what week) and I really thought I was going to escape with about 25lbs. But nooooooo.. I think I'm up to 30 or 31 lbs now. Sad I gained way more with Tatzeanna so I'm glad about that, but still.. not looking forward to trying to take it off again. Exclamation

Well apparently the popping is my pelvic bones there OPEN .. blah I swear I didn’t get this much action down there like in all of college put together..
She told me there is this little grisly thing between your pelvic bones and like his (my dh’es ) and hers are fused shut but mine aren’t. she said something about that being one of the reasons older ladies have to have c sections but.. its not always the case
Made me feel young though she told me I was very flexible due to my age probably.. go 22! lol

Have you tried a boppi pillow? Or doing that lay on your side put a boob on a pillow and the baby on the pillow then try to feed that way? Its apparently a bit hard to get the positioning right with larger ladys…
I’m surprised they let you leave the hospital without offering you a lactation specialist. My hospital has one come in the room and help you right after birth.. they don’t like to take the baby anywhere till its had a bit of nursing.
Amy
Yeah I agree I had a friend who had her baby and like a few weeks later shes on the beach in a bikini with milk boobs and all skinny and hot.. all these pics of her and her baby and im like damn.. I suck at life..
Doc told me today I should expect to loose 20 lbs after birth..
If I had twins would I get 40 off? Razz

Eileen
I envy you I’ve always wanted to run but ive never been able to, Dh runs.. wont wake up and go with me in the morning though but im trying to get him to agree to run with the baby in the jogging stroller… every morning at 7:30 I go for a 30 min walk.
Its hard now it takes mea bit over 30 min sometimes to clear the same area but the baby seems to like it he kicks for ever after I get home..

Diana
I have gained 22 lbs water weight my docs says.. and I cant were my wedding rings.. it feels like have mittens for hands in the morning… but it goes down after I eat some meat..
So don’t feel bad I can roll along with ya on the water weight line.

I was pissed...because my boards changed to my groups and takes you to the new site...yesterday I noticed that if you scrolled down to the bottom of the "home page" there was a block that said are you looking for the old boards and it was a way to get you to them for a limited time...won't be long before it is completely gone...and Yup, it was on the October 2008 board.

Morning Ladies - I was also a bit upset yesterday when I could no longer get to the PSP boards. I used to go throug my boards all the time and they were gone. Sad I hope Jennifer is feeling better. I do have the link to the regular oct board on bbc saved in my favorites but not the PSP board. I didnt think they would take it completely away so soon.

Thanks for setting this site up Michelle. I dont know where I would have gone! I would have been lost in cyber space! I am 37 weeks today. Yeah for full term! I have a DA at 1:15 for a regular check. I keep hoping that he will tell me I need to go home and rest and order me to only work 1/2 days or something. It wont happen Crying or Very sad but a girl can hope. I guess that is all for now. I should go and start working on some invoices - weeee!

Take Care Ladies!

Jessi- I am with you on the water weight.. I think I have been putting on water weight also. the last two appts I have been to I have put on like 8 lbs of weight total between the two. thats almost half of total pregnancy gain and I have not been eating differently so thats the only explanation.

I seen shannon online last night at about 10 pm or so and sent her a private message and was sure she was posting something on here about her birth and I kept checking but nothing new posted and she ended up going offline so she must have just came on to read up on things she missed while being in hospital. Will have to go check out the Oct board though. and read

Kim- thanks for posting the link to her announcement :-)

Oh my gosh... so just went and seen shannon announcement on the other site... heheh he is a lil cutie and all that dark hair.... I can't wait for my lil guy to be born....almost tempted to have an eviction notice drawn up pretty quick like. lol

Hello ladies,

I am having a problem, I can't seem to get anything going. I am so tired i am falling asleep midsentence, I feel like i can't hold still for nothing, I can't think, I can hardley type which is weird. I feel like i took one fo those stacker or mini thins or something from the gas station. except not hyper ultra tired. I am also REALLY nausess. I am thinking of going home from work. I just feel weird and strange. No contractions or anything just feel like my skin is crawling or something. can't concentrate and just it is taking all my effort to sit here. Weird I know.

It's to funny. He's a very good and sweet little boy.Only cries when hungry, or when I change his diaper.Breastfeeding is getting to be much easier, especially now that my milk has come in.Nips are still a bit sore from the first few days but we're at least getting the latch right majority of the time.He is a bit jaundiced and I noticed a bit more today but he;s now peeing and pooping more often so that will help.We actually debated supplementing w/formula yesterday just until my milk was in fully. But I had a break down about it...It's hard because I really want to breastfeed exclusively but I also wanted to do what he needs to get over the jaundice...So we didn't supplement. We decided to give it another day and luckily my milk came in overnight. My older boys think he's cute and help toss diapers out but otherwise they aren't concerned either way...I have to say too that physically I'm feeling a lot better...Pregnancy is so hard on the body...I did separate my pelvis apparently a few weeks ago when I heard a horrible pop one night...So I'm having a tough time walking and it hurts quite a bit but that's really my only complaint. Will be back later to work on some personals but am gonna take a nap right now while Luc is...
