Joy - I am so glad your sister is doing better. Here is hoping her recovery goes the best it possibly can!

Eileen - Good luck at the gym! Good for you. Just remember you can do anything 5 minutes at a time. That really got me through some tuff times working out before I got married. I lost 80 lbs before my wedding. I really need to get back to working out I just havent found the time. The time I was at home with Nate I was sick and just couldnt work out. I guess I just have to find some Me time.

Kristen - I hope Maddie gets to feeling better. I hope the Thrush goes away soon. It sounds so painful for everyone involved.

Shannon - Sorry to hear about your sick kiddos. My DH has asthma and he is worried Nate is going to have it. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that his is because his mom smoked while pregnant with him. No one else in his family has it so I am keeping my fingers crossed. That is so strange about your son's leg. I hope it was just a pulled muscle.

EVERYONE GET BETTER!

AFM - Just working away. I actually found a long lost friend on Facebook. Its been really neat catching up. We were best friends when we were real little. Like age 2-7. Our familys moved away from each other so we lost touch and havent talked to each other in like 15-20 years. CRAZY.
That and I am hopful that President Obama will make the great changes that we need and be the great leader we have needed. I dont know that he will I just hope he will.
I found out my DH is going out of town in March for 4 days to a Game Developers conference. Its good and scary all at the same time. I also have to admit I am a little jealous. He is always the one who gets to go places and I stay home. Thats because his job sends him places... I would just once like to go somewhere and he be the one to stay home and take care of everything. That way I can relax and go and look at stuff in different cities and have room service etc... Oh well enough of my complaining! LOL!

I guess that is it for now. Take Care Ladies!

Wow you ladies had a rough one....

Elise- I hope the PT gets better for you soon..my DD is (thank God) still doing extremely well with it.

Kristen- I hope the thrush gets resolved quickly for both you and Maddie's benefit...I hate when my babies are sick..

Shannon- you poor woman!!!You seem to seldom get a break from complete madness(or colds for that matter) Good luck with the kiddos and their pnemonia

Amy- Does your hubby design video games or something?

AFM- I am up at the hour right now with super crabby baby. He's been fed twice within past two hours. Has a dry butt. and is crabby... tried the swing no go tried laying him on floor on blankie no go trying to hold him at the moment and no go he is just screaming.....and oh yeah he burped too so thats not the problem either...just case of the crabbies.. I just found out today that my sister had some internal bleeding and they had t give her 6 units of blood because of it.. I guess it is stable right now though....other than that not too much new really.. Oh yeah I was gonna post in Brag section but with crabby baby I ll just post it here Jeremiah Rolled from back to belly and belly to back tonight while laying on the floor on a blanket..Which I think is like way early but he did it. also another brag is my DD slept in underwear all last night and did not even wet them a little.. I am so proud of her.... Glad it is going smoothly though because I was starting to get on edge with it about a month or two ago because she was almost always peeing and poopin in a diaper on purpose...

Morning everyone! I normally would say good morning but that hasnt been determined yet.

Shannon - Oh my goodness! I hope DS #2 doesnt have pneumonia! Poor thing - you guys just arent having any luck where ilness is concerned. I hope you all get better soon.

Joy - Yeah for rolling over! I am sorry he is in a crabby mood. That is never fun. All you can do is try and comfort them until they get their crabbyness out I guess. I hope it passes for you soon. Its also great that your DD had a dry night! Here is hoping there are many more to come!

Elise - I hope the PT gets better!

AFM - I woke up this morning and my refridgerator has pretty much stopped working. Of course I went to the grocery store yesterday and bought a bunch of frozen foods and dairy products. I have a repairman coming over after work. Here is hoping its an easy fix and I dont loose all of my food. That will be really expensive to replace. I have also just gotten a bloody nose. I never had them before being pregnant and I hope they go away soon. It has to be the weather changes we are going through. Its going to be warmer today and tomorrow Like almost 80 and then its going down into the 30 / 40s again. My nose just cant take it!
Nate came home yesterday from daycare and fell asleep at 7:00 and slept until 3:45 AM then went back to sleep and I had to wake him up at 7:00 to get him ready for the day. Poor little kid, daycare tuckers him out. Either that or he is having a growth spurt.
I guess that is it for now. I should go and get to work. I have been swamped this week.

Take Care,

awww everyone seems to be dealing with so much!!!

Kristen- I hope your darling girl starts feeling better soon.

Joy- I hope your sister continues to recover, what a scary situation.

Shannon- you seriously just deserve a break...Your whole family deserves to be healthy for a few months. I hope DS is feeling better soon.

Amy- it seems to be one thing after another for you lately. I hope that it is an easy fix...if it was as cold there as it is there all you would have to do is put the stuff outside.

AFM- I have been really busy for the past few days just enjoying my family. We went sledding two days in a row, had an absolute blast and then had my Mom and stepdad over for dinner last night...McKenna went home with them and will be coming home some time today. I was a nice break but I don't think Landree likes sleeping in her room with out her, she was up much earlier than usual. I took a personal day for today as my DH has today off too so we could have one more family day...we are staying home today and not doing much of anything just enjoying each other except a little house cleaning.

Oh I had meant to reply more to Joy! UGH I would loose my head if it wasnt attacched.

Joy - Yes DH designs and creates flight simulator programs. They have a lot of government contracts even though the company is based out of Canada. It uses a lot of the same technology as video games so of course in our house video games are "RESEARCH". Whatever! LOL!

I hope your sister gets well enough soon to go home from the hospital. Do they know why she had such a reaction to the surgury? Was this something the Dr messed up on or just the way her body reacted?

Kim - I know right! If it were colder my yogurt and fudge bars would be in the yard. It was sad that when I left the house this morning the garage was colder than the fridge was.

Hi ladies,

It's been a few days...I had alot of catching up to do.

Joy, hope u'r sister continues to improve.
How exciting rolling over and dry all night...u'r having a good week.

Kristen, I hope Maddie gets better soon.

Eileen, GL at the gym. We joined the Y then moved too far away so we bought a weight machine & eliptical. I use the eliptical SOMETIMES but we never used the weights...got rid of it.

Shannon, sorry to hear everyone is so sick...hope they're better soon.

Amy, that is so funny he's tuckered, he's having some big days!

Kim, enjoy u'r family day. I hate that DH is laid off but it's so nice to have him home. He even said he's getting to do what alot of men never have the priviledge, spending time with Aubrey while she's so young.

AFM:...ok, this will be long.
Aubrey has a full blown cold now...major nose congestion. Last night I had her sleep in the swing, with the humidifier and saline drops but poor baby is so congested. Thankfully no fever and she's still eating good (like mother like daughter, haha)
I know I explained she was in the NICU for lungs but I don't think I mentioned that she also had a mild coartation of the aeorta, which is a narrowing of the aeorta. They had told us that it was mild enough they hoped she would grow out of it. Yesterday was her first follow up visit with the cardiologist and IT IS IMPROVING!!! so much they are expecting it to be normal by her next visit in 6 months.
Also yesterday I talked to my boss and found out that I can work in the office Tues/Wed and from home on Thurs so I only have to have g'ma's babysitting...
We had a great day yesterday....

Oh and Amy I wanted to comment on the prez....
Actually I hate to get into political discussions b/c I feel everyone has the right to their choice and reasons w/o having to defend them...fortunately we live in a great country that allows us that priviledge.

So, I'll just say....regardless if he was or wasn't all, some or no one's man of choice, he is the man now and hopefully everyone can come together to get us in a better place!

Diana - I am SO GLAD Aubry's aeorta is looking good. That is wonderful news! I feel for you with the congestion. Nate was there last week its no fun for them.

Oh and on the politics. I wasnt trying to stir anything up or even that I was one way or the other on it. Just that now that he is there the only thing I can do is remain hopeful that he follows through on the promises of change to our country that will improve our economy etc. I have so many friends and relatives out of work and there is nothing I can do but hope things get better.

Oh and I love your new siggy pic! She is precious!

Post by MichelleL Wed Jan 21, 2009 4:06 pm

HI everyone! I read all of the posts...man there were a lot of them....but I'm running on 2 hours of sleep and can't remember what I read! I hope those who are sick or who have kids that are sick get better soon! We have had quite a few nights with very little sleep. Brenden is waking every 45mins to an hour wanting to be held back to sleep. It only takes 2 or 3 minutes for him to knock out but he just gets back up again. I am so tired I am seeing blury. Anyone know how to stop this? I was so delirious last night I layed him down on the bed and told DH to get up and take care of his baby I was going upstairs to sleep with Dawson. Of course I felt bad and didn't go upstairs leaving DH with this but for that moment I thought I was going to drop...like a fly. He's not screaming so I know he's not in pain (reflux, gas or whatever) as a matter of fact he is in a great mood...just doesn't want to sleep. Anyone ever had this problem? I'm going to get a night time nanny so I can sleep for ONE night if I can't figure this out....I've never been so tired in all of my life. Not even the 9 days we were without power during hurricane Ike and I was about to deliver!

Amy...I was totally agreeing with you....it's just time to get everything back on track.
I almost didn't even comment b/c I didn't want you to think that but just being directly affected with DH losing his job of 23 years I'm ready for something/anything to change.

The new pic....thanks!! doesn't she look like such a big girl already?!?!?! The time already seems to be flying by.

I agree with you also Amy on the President I too hope that he will follow through on all the changes he is saying he would do during the campaigning time.

AFM- My hubby needs a J-O-B he tried calling unemployment today..well actually called MARVIN first only to hear it tell him he will be receiving a check for 362 which is only payment for 1 week not 2 which is weird because he was given 20 weeks more unemployment which would bring it out to like April that he could collect till. So confused about that he has been trying all day to call the unemployment office and find out what is going on and it keeps saying the lines are all busy yada yada... and we seen on the news that there are people lined up like crazy waiting for 6-8 hours at the office for answers. I hope tomorrow he is able to figure something out. We are still one month behind in rent from before when they cut him off. And we have all our bills and car payment coming up in like a week... Grr.. and to top it off he is thinking of getting back into the truck driving stuff and going OTR which means he would be gone for 2 weeks or so and home 36 hours which would really suck because I would have all 3 kids on my own constantly... and the kids would hardly ever see him.....hmph.. I hope something comes up as far as unemployment goes and also for a Job for him to where he doesn't have to go OTR.

Joy I will be praying for you and your hubby. That is really tuff. If he can do truck driving has he ever thought about being in the criminal justice field like as a corrections officer? the pay is usually really good it is shift work but generally comes with godo benefits and pay and he can do it anywhere. He could look into the local sheriff's department. It has been very good to me. Plus it is job security there will always be criminals and he can do it for a while and then go on to somethign better, or go into private security. just a thought for you adn everyone dealing with job loss.

Shannon, sorry to hear about DS #2 also...

Joy, I wish your DH all the luck. As of right now, we still have severance but DH is dealing with the unemployment office too. Here in MO, they have laid workers off too, there isn't even an office to go to, it's all online or over the phone and when u call they tell you they are busy to call back between 9-5 and disconnect you...and it is between 9-5. MO's benefit max is $320/week...wow...that pays for groceries and gas.
Keep your chin up....it may be tough at times but we'll all get thru the hard stuff. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Shannon - I hope you all get well soon! You are going to be happy when the cold weather is gone....

Joy - I hope your DH finds something that doesn't keep him away from home so long! My DH's uncle drives for Walmart and he is home every night. He used to go over the road and be gone days at a time but since his wife has been ill Walmart has worked out well for them.

Diana - $320 a week? Does unemployment not go up with inflation??? Geesh...how do they expect someone to live? Certainly if they are used to bringing home a lot more than that! Luckily his company offered a severance package!

AFM - ya'll are NOT going to believe it! Brenden went to sleep last night at 7:30 and didn't wake until 3am. Then he didn't wake again until 6am. He has been very pleasant and fun all morning! He is on his 2nd nap of the day. The first one was at 9am for about 40minutes. Yesterday was a very good day for him and for me too even though I was severely sleep deprived. Maybe he caught on and realized I needed some rest...seriously. LOL Anyway, I'm not holding my breath but I am hopeful for tonight. DH got up with him at the 3am feeding so I got a full nights sleep....first time since Hurricane Ike! I'm sooooooo happy! Wish us luck tonight!

Michelle - Yeah for a good nights sleep! I got one too and I am right there with you. Nate finally slept through the night from 8:30 until 6:45AM when we had to wake him up to get him ready to go to daycare. That hasnt happened to me before. He did it once or twice for DH but never for me! Its nice.

Joy - I hope your DH finds work soon. Its so hard right now - also kind of a long with the corrections officer line of work eileen mentioned - city work usually has some stability. Cities arent going out of business and there are so many departments (development services, waste management, inspections etc) with great retirement plans... It might be worth looking into.

Shannon - I hope your boys are feeling better. Oh and I love your new avitar. Is that outfit from Old Navy? Just curious. Nate has one similar that is Navy and Teal blue and it looks like its the same one.

Eileen - How are things going with the trainer? I had one right before I got married (When I lost 80 some odd lbs). I enjoyed it and it made me be responsible.

AFM - Just working my tush off today! Wow! I feel like I have worked a whole week and I still have 2 hours left. Its been crazy. Good News - my refridgerator works again and we only lost some chicken, shrimp and the fudge bars and sherbet. Not too bad considering. It turns out some computer chip that controlled the auto defrost was faulty and caused the freezer to freeze up the coils and prevented the cold air from getting to the fridge... or something Whatever - its fixed!
I know its supposed to be getting easier coming to work every day but its really getting harder for me. When I get home and Nate is only awake for like an hour or 2 and the he is asleep and I get to see him for 1/2 hour in the morning before I go to work its just not enough! I miss my cuddles! Ok enough complaining.
My Grandmother called my mom in a joyus panic today to tell her that Regis and Kelly are having a beautiful baby contest and that I should enter. You can win a college scholarship and baby food. Well I started reading the rules and you have to be at least 6 months old as of January 12th or some where around there. DARN IT! So, if any of you have kids between 6 and 48 months you might want to enter. Heck it wont hurt to enter and you could get a scholarship out of it.

I guess that is all I have for now!

Take Care!

amy- nate would totaly win that contest if they let him enter!...lol yeah teh personal trainer is working well. she was kind of flaky after the first day but i just needed a routine to adhere to to do it well so i am happy. I have been doing 45 min on the treadmill walking as fast as i jog and then weights and i am sore but i feel good sore if that makes sense!

Shannon-your vida loca strikes again! i am so sorry ds2 has pneumonia! here's praying no one else catches it!

Joy - hope your DH can find something local soon!

Michelle - yeah for sleep!! Logan seems to be settling back down (knock on wood).....

Amy - glad to hear your fridge was fixable and you didn't lose much! if you were here on the east coast, all you'd have to do is stick the food outside!! it's nice and cold here! Smile

Eileen - glad the workout stuff is working for you

AFM: things have been crazy lately - Logan has been on his mommy-only and only wants to sleep in mommy's arms, so it's kinda hard to type while holding baby - not impossible, but hard. DH had an interview yesterday and a phone screen today, so we'll see where they lead, if anywhere....they're at least local jobs so if he did get one of them and it ended up not working out, we wouldn't have to move immediately for him to start! i told him that if we're meant to stay in this area, then he will get a job that is right for him here...if we're meant to move, then that is where the job will be. "Everything happens for a reason - you might know or understand the reason at the time, but there is always a reason for everything." I have to believe that or I think I would be locked away in a padded room right now!

Ok - time to clean up from dinner...my parents got us a new crock pot for hannukah, so i've been having fun trying out new recipes - so far, i'm 3 for 3! Smile

here's some good sleeping vibes to all the babies, kids and mommies {{sleeping dust}} Smile

Amy- I saw that this morning too...I wanted to enter both of them but alas Landree is to little...I am going to hunt up a good picture of McKenna and submit it.

Glad to hear that some of you are finally getting some rest.

AFM- tonight has been a busy busy night at work...I hate kid calls by the way but we just had to lifestar one out...a little 20month old that was running and trip and went face first into a wall, knocked himself out and stopped breathing for a minute, Mom even had to perform rescue breathing, while that was going on I had a domestic and officers doing car stops, I though my radio was gonna blow up.

Post by Guest Fri Jan 23, 2009 4:22 am

Whew I am so glad I copied this before trying to post because the darn site logged me out while I was typing it up... what the heck I would have been livid..

Eileen-He used to wanna be a police officer when he was younger. But when he was born there was some complications and caused alot of pressure on his brain. His mom had a tilted uterus and was supposed to have a c section her reg dr was out of town and fill in dr didnt read the chart so they were trying to force her to deliver normal. So as a result he ended up with hydrocephelus and has a shunt on the right side of his head. That prevented him from doing school contact sports. Also any jobs that may have contact aspects such as maybe a fight breaking out in Jail or something or a police officer having to wrestle a suspect down for arrest. He was on disability up until he was like 17 or 18 then they cut him off. Since then he has held a factory job. So I doubt if they would ever give the disability back to him due to that. But anyways way off base I don't think given the situations that come up I don't think they would allow him to do Corrections :-( PS good luck with the workouts. Do a few crunches for me Razz Lord knows I need to lose some big time..

Michelle- There are local jobs like one is JB Hunt available but none will hire until he has OTR experience first..which just totally bites the big one for sure.

Amy-He has applied at waste management but no luck.. I wish they would call though would work out good he could drive and I could have my hubby home daily so he can be a part of his kids lives.

Elise- OOOoooOOooOO I love crock pots!!!!!!! I ended up cracking mine right before Christmas time and was really bumming and ended up getting a nicer one for Christmas. I was so geeked over it. I made a roast for dinner last night to break it in. It is so nice to throw something in the crock pot and not have to worry about anything for dinner except maybe a side dish or two...

AFM- My little Jeremiah was giggling like crazy today. I love his laughs!!!Also I heard from my brother tonight and my sister is doing really well. She is off the ventilator( think I said that somewhere on here already) and I guess just recently maybe yesterday they moved her back to the Barix Clinic and he mentioned that they are thinking of letting her come home in a few days....Although if you could keep in prayer that she eats the way she is to eat after surgery because my brother thinks she may slack and eat stuff she shouldn't. I guess she is really on edge and grumpy the last time he seen her. I hope she sticks with the diet though and that all this was not for nothing..

TGI-freakin- F Ladies!

Eileen - Thanks your are too sweet! Oh and you totally make sense. I actually miss the I hurt but it feels good to hurt thing. I have got to find time to start working out.

Elise - I love my crock pot! I dont use it a WHOLE lot but the times when I do it is irreplaceable. I am glad you are enjoying yours. You can make lots of yummy warm meals in them. I am sorry you are still having sleep issues with Logan. Hopefully they will turn themselves around soon. I still have my fingers crossed for your DH and his job search.

Kim - I dont know how you do it. I dont think my stomach could handle kid calls. Its hard enough handeling regular emergencies. You are a strong lady I tell you what!

Joy - I am glad your sister is doing better. If she had the full gastric bypass it will be really difficult to go back to her old eating ways. I have a cousin who had it and a lady here in my office. The cousin trys to do what he used to and ends up throwing up everywhere if he takes one bite to many. It makes them miserable. Oh and the lady in my office, she is trying to do it correctly but every so often she eats a little more than she should have or what she ate expanded in her stomach more and she is MISERABLE. She has hot flashes and is in sevear pain, but she has lost almost 100 lbs in a year. Maybe she will realize she cant go back and it will work out for her.

AFM - Well after a really hard day yesterday I also had a hard evening. It seems DH forgot to put milacon in all of Nate's bottles yesterday. He made them the night before for daycare and was really sleepy and just forgot to put it in. Well this was disaseterous for Nate. Poor little guy was screaming and crying all day at daycare yesterday because he had gas so bad. So I got him home and gave him some milacon and got him into a warm bath and he started feeling better around 8:00. Ugh I am so tired today. Just worn out from work and then a cranky baby on top of it. I just felt so bad for him to be in so much pain. DH felt bad too. He was kind of beating himself up over it. All is good now. I made the bottles and we both double checked that there was milacon in everyone! Wow if your baby becomes milacon dependant and then doesnt get it - The screaming is amazing.

I guess that is it for now. I am trying to think of something good to make for dinner that DH will really love. He has had a hard week at work and a big meeting today he isnt looking forward to. I want to make him some comfort food with some good wine. I just dont know what to make. Any suggestions?

I guess I am off to work now.
